Emmerdale will apparently be saying goodbye to another cast member soon as Gail Loman actress Rachael Gill-Davis is said to be leaving the role after two years on the ITV soap

Another Emmerdale favourite is thought to be leaving the ITV soap this year after a string of exits.

Rachael Gill-Davis has apparently quit the role of Gail Loman after two years, and six years after her brief first arrival. Gail joined the show as a love interest for Ryan Stocks, first meeting in 2019 before she became a regular character in 2023.

Amid a huge secret child storyline, it seems Gail and Ryan could split as Gail will be leaving the village according to reports. A source claims it was the right time for actress Rachael to “spread her wings” while the show also didn’t have much more in store for her.

Gail is currently a barmaid in The Woolpack, the soap’s famous pub, while there have been no scenes onscreen that suggest an exit is on the way. As for other characters, five were killed off in recent months with other exits also airing.

Amy Wyatt, Leyla Harding and Suzy Merton died in the limo crash, while Nate Robinson and Anthony Fox have been murdered in recent months. Brenda Walker is tipped to leave soon too, while other exits have included Wendy Posner and Amelia Spencer, as well as Tom King.

A source told The Sun: “Rachael has loved her time on the show but it’s time to go. Bosses felt the character wasn’t inspiring much story and so it was all very amicable.

“The door has been left open but it’s a definite goodbye for now. Rachael is looking forward to spreading her wings and showing off her talents on other shows.”

Viewers will no doubt be speculating how Gail will leave the show, while it’s thought the door will be kept open for a return. There’s still huge twists and possible exits ahead, with Joe Tate possibly terminally ill, and a funeral on the way.

Caleb Miligan will be left fighting for his life too as shown in a recent trailer. There’s also talks of a huge stunt causing chaos at the start of 2026, but that is a way off yet. As for Rachael she has apparently already filmed her final scenes meaning she could be leaving within the next month or two.

The Mirror have contacted Emmerdale for comment on this story. Viewers will no doubt be paying close attention to the scenes ahead for any clues on how Gail will depart.
