Coronation Street fans brace for twist as Aadi Alahan’s masked robber story backfires

Coronation Street is set for a tense twist in Friday’s episode of the ITV soap (July 18) as Aadi Alahan finds himself at the centre of a dramatic corner shop robbery — but not everyone’s convinced he’s telling the full story. The drama kicks off when a masked intruder bolts from the shop, prompting Aadi to shout out in panic. Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers_, a local police officer, freezes on the spot, and Carla Connor (Alison King) looks on in disbelief at her inaction.
Inside, Aadi tells his sister Asha (Tanisha Gorey)that the thief threatened him with a wrench and forced him to empty the safe. Asha reassures him it’s not his fault and insists he’s the victim here. When PC Jess arrives to take a statement, Aadi claims the robber made off with £6,000 in cash, though quickly adds that at least the shop is insured. But not everyone buys his version of events.

Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) clocks his shifty demeanour and starts to question whether he’s holding something back. Aadi looks uneasy, and Bernie — never one to ignore her instincts — begins to suspect there’s more going on beneath the surface.
Just as tensions rise, the shop door flies open and Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) storms in, demanding to know what’s going on. His unexpected arrival may be the moment the truth finally starts to unravel.
Aadi’s behaviour in the aftermath of the robbery raises eyebrows, especially as he seems more focused on reassuring everyone that the shop is insured than giving clear details about the incident.
Meanwhile, Lisa’s hesitation during the raid hasn’t gone unnoticed.
As a trained officer, her failure to act has left Carla and others puzzled, prompting questions about whether something deeper is going on with her.
Just as the tension builds, Dev storms in mid-chaos, adding another layer of drama to an already charged situation.

His arrival could be the catalyst that pushes things to boiling point, especially with the family now facing both emotional and financial fallout. As the storyline unfolds, viewers will be left questioning who’s really telling the truth.
Is Aadi the innocent victim he claims to be, or is he hiding something? Lisa’s odd behaviour could point to a personal struggle — or even a connection to the masked intruder.
And with Bernie already clocking Aadi’s nerves, it may only be a matter of time before someone digs a little deeper.
