Sarah Ferguson made another bold ‘demand’ to her daughter, but Princess Eugenie’s loyalty to King Charles and the crown came in between.
It has been reported that Fergie visited Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank in Lisbon to support the couple following the birth of their daughter.
The former Duchess of York found a sense of security in the town and demanded keys to the luxurious house of her daughter.
According to Closer, Ferige put a ‘win-win’ condition in front of Eugenie and her husband: she can look after her grandkids when they are in town, and while they are away, she will protect herself from paparazzi.
In 2023, Eugenie called living in Portugal “the dream,” sharing, “I can go to the supermarket in my exercise gear and my hair piled on my head and not mind. Not care. No one cares.”
Sarah found her secret heaven. “She could reinvent herself there and enjoy a quieter way of life, away from the public eye, the paparazzi and all the scrutiny.”
But Eugenie is ‘picking’ King Charles and Prince William’s side as she knows giving shelter to her mother means more controversial headlines.
“Eugenie and Jack are already under enough scrutiny; they can’t afford to be at the centre of any more damaging headlines or be seen as troublemakers,” an insider pointed out.
