SURPRISE: The Chase star Anne Hegerty SHARES a very SPECIAL CAREER ANNOUNCEMENT on ITV’s Loose Women

The Chase’s Anne Hegerty has announced she’s landed a role in a new film as a UFO spotter.
The quiz whizz is set to make her feature film debut in the movie Deadcast. Speaking on ITV’s Loose Women on Tuesday (August 26), she agreed it was an “excellent” career move for her, reports Bristol Live.

The show’s Christine Lampard noted that Anne, 67, had harboured a “burning desire” to act and now her dream was becoming a reality.
Revealing how she got the part, Anne said: “Yeah. Last year, I did a short film called Exorcising Barry, and the people who made it are now in the process of making a feature film called Deadcast, and I’ve got a scene in that.
“It’s about some podcasters. Their podcast is about the supernatural, and they take it on the road and get a little more than they bargained for!”
Anne will be portraying a character who becomes a recluse after being criticised for taking a photo of a UFO and sharing it online.
Teasing the plot to the Loose Women panel, she said: “There’s a bit where I go into the garden and show them where the UFO was. I say, this is set in Lincolnshire by the way. I say, ‘They’ve been with me my whole life. It doesn’t matter where I go; they follow me.’
“And at this very moment an ice cream van went past playing Teddy Bears’ Picnic!”
In addition to her appearances on the big screen and The Chase, which she has been a part of since 2010, Anne has also dabbled in reality TV.
She was a contestant on the 2018 series of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! and was the fifth camper to be voted off.

When questioned on Loose Women about the possibility of taking part if there was an I’m a Celeb reunion, she playfully hinted: “It would depend.”
Anne further revealed that she still participates in a group chat about her time in the jungle, praising her fellow campers, who included Harry Redknapp, Rita Simons, and Emily Atack, as the “nicest bunch of people”.
