Stephen Curry has a deep connection with his fans, particularly the younger ones. Curry often interacts with his supporters, including giving away his jersey after games. His influence extends beyond just the court, as his fans look up to him as an inspiration.
During the Golden State Warriors vs. Toronto Raptors game, many fans donned Curry’s jersey. But a little fan was in the spotlight due to the Toronto team’s mishandling of the pregame event at Scotiabank Arena.
As the pregame event started at Scotiabank Arena, the child was seemingly forced by a female official to remove his Curry jersey in order to participate. This act of removing a fan’s jersey for the event quickly caught the attention of social media users.
Fans were shocked by the incident and quickly voiced their disapproval online. Many argued that the young boy was simply showing support for his idol. For them, it seemed unnecessary to ask him to take off the jersey of his favorite player just for a pregame activity. The situation ignited a conversation about respect for fans and the handling of such events by team.
Commentators Slam Raptors for Forcing Young Fan to Remove Stephen Curry Jersey Before Game
The incident of forcing the kid to switch Stephen Curry’s jersey also caught the attention of commentators during the game. Among them, one commentator expressed his shock at the treatment of the young fan.
“Pregame, something happened that just isn’t right, and the Warriors are gonna try to make things right. This kid had a Curry jersey on, right? They made him take it off because he was gonna do a thing on the court. He put on his Warriors hat and jersey. They put a Raptors T-shirt on him,” one commentator said.
The night didn’t go well for Curry either. Despite his stellar performance, scoring 26 points, grabbing seven rebounds, and dishing out seven assists, the Warriors suffered a narrow 104-101 loss to the Raptors.

According to USA Today, the warrants are out as a result of the former NFL MVP failing to appear in court for two separate child support cases.
“The current legal case is related to a misunderstanding regarding Adrian’s court appearances as it relates to child support, and he is actively working with his legal team to resolve this matter as quickly as possible,” Peterson’s publicist Denise White told the publication.
