THE Dallas Cowboys have made a major move in their rebuild for 2025.
The team have restructured wide receiver CeeDee Lamb’s contract, which creates $20 million in cap space for next season.

Lamb agreed to a restructure just a year after signing his latest deal in order to free up the cap space to sign new players.
Before Lamb’s sacrifice, the Cowboys had roughly $4 million in available cap space after seeing the league set the new cap ceiling at $279.2 million.
He signed a four-year extension with the Cowboys last year and had 101 catches for 1,194 yards and six touchdowns in 2024.
Additional cap space can help the Cowboys on several fronts .
It won’t hurt their push to sign defensive end Micah Parsons to a long-term deal.
Before the 2024 season, Dak Prescott signed a four-year contract with the Cowboys.
The quarterback is locked to stay in Dallas until the end of the 2028 season.
That deal caused a massive hit to the salary cap.
Dallas also agreed a new $80 million with one of their key defensive stars and Prescott’s teammate.
Defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa agreed to a new four-year deal.

It is worth $80 million overall but comes with $58 million guaranteed and a $20 million signing bonus.
Jerry Jones’ son and Cowboys chief executive Stephen revealed the team’s strategy.
He was asked about Dallas’ rebuild at the Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, Indiana last month.
“We’re gonna look at everything we can,” Jones said.
“We’re gonna be selectively aggressive.
“We’re gonna try to improve our football team — not try, we’re gonna improve our football team. We expect to have success next year.”

They have multiple free agents, including running back Rico Dowdle, and cornerback Jourdan Lewis, who won’t count toward the 2025 salary cap.
America’s Team hasn’t won the Super Bowl in nearly 30 years.
The NFC East is now one of the toughest divisions in the league with the Eagles and the Commanders as championship contenders.
Dallas finished 7-10 last year and third in the NFC East.
They moved on from head coach Mike McCarthy when his contract ended in January.
