Jane McDonald has sent fans into a frenzy after sharing a major career updatewith supporters flooding social media with messages of support. The beloved singer and TV favourite revealed she has released a brand-new single and is just days away from launching a highly anticipated album, marking her latest return to music. Taking to X, Jane McDonald told followers: “It’s finally happening! My new single Don’t Mind If I Do is out today, and Living The Dream is out in ONE WEEK! I wanted to share with you a little recording studio tour. This is where all the magic happened. What a fantastic time we had in Nashville, surrounded by the most incredible team.

“A dream come true!” The announcement sparked an immediate wave of excitement from her loyal fanbase, many of whom have followed her journey from cruise ship performer to household name. One supporter wrote: “Jane, I’m loving the new single but cannot wait till Album day next week. Love you” Another added: “Looking fab Jane, good luck with the new single.”

A third chimed in: “Living the new single Jane, can’t wait for the rest of the album xx”

With decades in the spotlight spanning music, presenting and entertainment, Jane built a devoted following through shows including Cruising with Jane McDonald and Jane McDonald’s Weekends Away, cementing her reputation as one of the nation’s most loved personalities.

Away from the cameras, Jane has also been open about her personal life. She has been engaged to partner Eddie since rekindling their relationship after her first marriage ended in 2003.

In her 2019 autobiography Riding the Waves, she revealed why she never had children during her marriage to first husband Henrik.

Jane wrote: “Henrik and I once talked about having children but there wasn’t room for babies in his plans for me. I began to feel lonely in my marriage.”

The pair met while working on a cruise ship — Jane as a performer and Henrik as a plumbing engineer — before he later became her manager following their wedding in 1998.

She explained the shift in their relationship: “Your manager is your boss and tells you what to do, what to wear and who to be, so our relationship changed.”

Jane added: “I loved him with all my heart, but felt he’d stopped looking at me as a wife. I became a product.”

After their split, she reunited with teenage sweetheart Eddie, and the couple have remained together ever since. During lockdown they lived together at home, and Jane has often spoken about how much his support means to her.

In a recent episode of Jane McDonald’s Weekends Away, she admitted she missed him while filming abroad.

Jane said: “This is my perfect night, the only thing missing for me is my other half. This is just such a romantic place. Everywhere you look it’s a beautiful view, they’ve got fine wines, they’ve got great food. I love it here. Cheers to Malta.”
