Twitter/X owner Elon Musk explained this Monday why users have been experiencing difficulties on his social media platform.
The site/app has been bugging for most of the day, with tweets either loading slowly or not at all.
According to Musk, this is the result of a cyberattack.
Musk, who is also the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, took to the platform to report as much, claiming X gets attacked every day, but this one was more effective as it was the work of a large group or a country.

“We get attacked every day, but this was done with a lot of resources. Either a large, coordinated group and/or a country is involved,” he wrote, adding that he was trying to find out who was responsible.

Whoever is behind this couldn’t have picked a worse day, given that today marked the first day of NFL free agency, with several big moves having taken place.
Lots of fans depend on the platform for breaking football news, with the likes of Adam Schefter, Ian Rapoport, Dianna Russini, Tom Pelissero, and others tweeting out the latest developments around the NFL in real-time.
Many high-profile moves have taken place on Day 1, with lots more to follow.
One of the biggest stories emerging from the start of free agency was Justin Fields signing with the New York Jets after last season with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Sam Darnold is also on the move, signing with the Seattle Seahawks after resurrecting his career with the Minnesota Vikings in 2024.
The platform was still a mess at the time of writing. Hopefully, Elon Musk gets a handle on it soon.
