He held his sister Carla Connor at gunpoint in an abandoned factory and brutally attacked DCI Lisa Swain.
Summoning every ounce of strength, Carla charged at him, shoving him hard.
But instead of just slamming into the wall, Rob bounced off it and appeared to do a somersault over the stairwell in a bizarre stunt.
ITV viewers could not believe their eyes and have taken to social media in their droves to share their amusement at the scene.
One fan shared a clip of the moment Rob fell and wrote: “And people slagged off EastEnders Kojo’s stunt of falling down the stairs, this from Emmerdale tops it.”
A second posted a clip of a man throwing a ball at the wall and quipped: “Rob bounces off the wall in Corrie.”
A third hilariously wrote: “Let me get this straight…Carla pushes Rob, he stumbles into the wall and then, quite acrobatically, launches himself off the stairs…Get Rob done for diving please ref.”
“I was wondering if that wall was made of rubber. That was the most unnatural move I’ve seen in a while,” a fourth commented.
This person said: “Can someone please check on Rob, after getting pushed down some stairs and banging into the wall, I heard he’s doing some back flips.”

“Wtf have I just watched he practically threw himself over I’m crying,” this viewer posted.
Someone else said: “It’s like a Harry Hilly TV burp sketch,” while this viewer echoed: “Ok so somebody explain to me like I’m a five year old, how Rob fell over the side there…”
Another fumed: “This is a farce……it’s beyond ridiculous and the producers and writers should be ashamed for creating this utter embarrassing drivel.”
Following his baffling backflip, Rob was left motionless on the floor as a horrified Carla looked on.
A battered but very much alive Lisa then staggered onto the scene.
The cold-blooded killer had struck a secret deal – offering up a kidney to save his sister Carla Connor (Alison King), while her copper partner DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) vowed to pull strings to get his conviction overturned.
However, Lisa had no intention of sticking to the deal.
So, as soon as the operation was over, Rob launched his daring escape and turned to his his prison guard lover, Mandy (Rebecca Atkinson), for a last-ditch escape plan.
She wasted no time, seizing Carla at gunpoint and dragging her out of bed before forcing her to an abandoned office block – setting the stage for a deadly showdown.
Carla desperately tried to make Mandy see sense, warning her that Rob was only using her.
Meanwhile, Rob hijacked Lisa’s car, demanding a hefty cash transfer and warning that Carla would suffer if she didn’t comply.
But when Lisa attempted to call for backup, Rob snapped – viciously attacking her and leaving her for dead.
Back at the office block, Mandy revealed she was pregnant with his child, but Rob’s reaction was far from what she expected.
Instead of joy, he lashed out, knocking her to the ground, finally exposing his true colours.
Realising the monster he really was, Mandy walked away, while Rob coldly declared that he cared about no one but himself and his freedom.
With chilling composure, he then admitted to Carla that he may have just murdered Lisa – leaving her horrified.
But Carla wasn’t about to let him win and gave him a big shove, which resulted in his accidental fall.
But is Rob dead?
