Soap icons Adam and Ryan Thomas have shared an astonishing aspect to their new gameshow 99 to Beat.
The brotherly duo, famous for their roles in Emmerdale and Coronation Street respectively, have now stepped into presenting and are the faces of the challenging ITV game show.
Sharing their excitement about their programme while appearing on the latest edition of Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch, Adam and Ryan expressed that the main objective for the contestants on their show is not to come last in any of the challenging games presented them, as they compete against 99 other hopefuls.
But the pair also disclosed a secret link that many may not be aware of.

Talking to Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer, Adam said: “Well apparently, I don’t know if you know this but these are the contestants that never got onto Big Brother.”
As Simon and Tim shared their amazement, Adam continued: “So these are the guys that didn’t get onto Big Brother and obviously we wanted to have some great contestants for the show.
“So what a better place to look than the Big Brother catalogue,” he revealed.
While appearing on Sunday Brunch the two stars also revealed that the “hardest part” of fronting 99 to Beat was the fact that they are not working with their other brother, Scott, who rose to fame on Love Island.

The presenters were surprised by the revelation
Ahead of the launch of the game show, Adam and Ryan spoke excitedly about the programme’s concept.
Adam said: “It’s a family-friendly, ridiculously stupid, funny, competitive game that anyone can play. That’s what we love about it the most – it’s not something that you’ve got to be super-fit or intelligent to do. It’s just like: ‘Get a slinky, put it on your head and see how quickly you can get it to stay there.’”
“This show’s definitely me and Ryan in a nutshell because it’s daft, funny and we don’t take ourselves too seriously.
“In 99 To Beat, we’re on the lookout for a winner, but genuinely we feel like competition winners ourselves,” he smiles.

“Being able to have a show like this on ITV – a channel that we were basically born on – is a very special moment for us. Between me and Ryan, we’ve done every show that is out there [Celebrity Big Brother, Strictly Come Dancing, Dancing On Ice and I’m A Celebrity], so to be on the other side, hosting the show, is definitely a dream come true.”
