Meghan Markle was dealt a fresh blow after a new poll showed she is among the least popular royals in the UK, ranking just above disgraced Andrew Mounabatten-Windsor. The Duchess of Sussex has seen her public perception in the UK and across the pond deteriorate following her sensational exit from the Royal Family six years ago.

A new poll by YouGov, commissioned right after the Sussexes’ trip to the UK earlier this month, showed that despite Meghan’s quiet appearance in Britain, its residents still hold a particularly unfavourable view of her. The survey, conducted between July 21-22 among 2,063 Brits and published today, showed only two out of 10 of them have a favourable view of the duchess. YouGov’s survey revealed that only 22% of Britons see Meghan in a positive light, relative to two-thirds (65%) holding an unfavourable opinion of the former Suits actress.

Her husband, on the other hand, saw a rare boost, with his favourability rising.

A third of Britons (33%) now see him favourably, up six points since May 2025, while the proportion with a negative view of the Duke has fallen five points over this period to 58%.

Meghan came second-to-last, just before the former Duke of York, who remains one of the most unpopular people in the country.

Just a mere 2% of Britons have a positive view of Andrew, while a full 92% see him in a negative light.

The most popular royals remain the Prince and Princess of Wales, with around three-quarters of Britons (74-76%) seeing them in a favourable light, figures largely unchanged over the last few years.

Positivity is similarly high and unmoved towards Princess Anne, with 70% of the public having a good opinion of the Princess Royal.

The King also remains largely popular, with more than six in ten Britons (62%) having a positive opinion of Charles III, double the 31% who see him unfavourably.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor (formerly Prince Andrew) continues to be one of the most unpopular people in the country, with our latest figures finding a mere 2% of Britons have a positive view of the former Duke of York, the lowest recorded to date, while a full 92% see him in a negative light.
