Sheinelle Jones and her family pulled off the best surprise for her dad’s 75th birthday: A surprise sleepover!
“This might be the best surprise ‘The Jones Siblings’ have pulled off yet!” TODAY co-host Sheinelle, a mother of three, captioned an Instagram video that captured the caper from start to finish. “My father had no idea we were rolling into town, complete with pillows and air mattresses to crash! Haha — Happy 75th Birthday to the best father & pop pop.”

Sheinelle and her husband Uche Ojeh are the parents of son Kayin, 14, and fraternal twins Clara and Uche, 12.
With the camera recording, Sheinelle’s adult siblings and all the little cousins descended on the home of “Pop Pop,” (aka, Judge C Darnell Jones) wearing comfy clothing perfect for a night of bonding, good food and more.
“He has no idea we all flew in for his 75th birthday,” reads the text on Sheinelle’s video.
One by one, each family member quietly shuffled into the living room, before yelling, “Surprise!” to the delighted grandpa.
“YAYYYYY!” he yelled, waving his arms in excitement. “Are you kidding me?!”
After hugging each family member, Pop Pop was served a birthday cake, the candles of which he allowed one little granddaughter to help blow out. The family then assembled on the couch for a big photo.
Two years ago, on her dad’s birthday, Sheinelle wrote on Instagram:
“Please join me in wishing Happy Birthday to my father Judge C Darnell Jones. It’s been quite a week, retiring after 35 years as a judge; 14 years of those years as a federal judge. This morning … a new chapter begins for sure.”
She added, “(Hey pop pop, since you’re free — can you watch the kids while we go to Tahiti?).”
