Jemele Hill certainly has some explaining to do after what just happened with Caitlin Clark.
On Sunday, police arrested a man accused of stalking the WNBA superstar, and the details are quite disturbing.
A Texas man sent s3xually violent messages from his X account to Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark and then drove to Indianapolis, according to court documents.
“Been driving around your house 3x a day,” he messaged her, referring to Gainbridge Fieldhouse. “But don’t call the law just yet.”
Michael Thomas Lewis of Denton, Texas, is charged with one count of stalking, threatening s3xual battery or death, a Level 5 felony.
He was arrested on Sunday.
So, how does Jemel Hill fit into this situation>
Back in September 2024, Hill posted a lengthy rant on X where she stated that Clark doesn’t face the same “hate” that black women in the WNBA face.
“I don’t like to play the oppression Olympics, but…has CC had to delete her social media accounts? No, but her teammate Aliyah Boston did,” Hill wrote in the since-deleted tweet.
“CC has given out a few hard shots herself, talked trash, jawed with the refs, and yet anytime she is subjected to physical play, a hard foul, or trash talk, opposing players are absolutely villainized.
“She is not constantly subjected to racial slurs, and whatever hate she does experience, she is not told to toughen up or that her feelings don’t matter. She is not subjected to both sides-ism, nor are people trying to justify any hate against her.”
Now, Caitlin Clark remains the only player in the league that has had to have a man arrested for stalking and threatening her.
It should be noted that several Chicago Sky players, including Angel Reese, claimed that a man “harassed” them and used racial slurs during an alleged incident in June.
It does not appear that law enforcement was called, and no evidence of this incident was ever found.
Reese most certainly gets harassed online, and a simple search of her name can bring some of the most vile things people could say to someone else.
Caitlin Clark Said She Was Concerned For Her Safety
A Texas man has been charged in Indiana with felony stalking after he allegedly sent Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark a barrage of text messages.
Clark told prosecutors left her “very fearful” and forced her to become wary of going out in public.
The court documents described the messages as “s3xually violent” and said that they had “actually caused Caitlin Clark to feel terrorized, frightened, intimidated or threatened.”
