Kelvin, 38, his wife Liz and their two kids Marnie and Milo moved onto a farm during the first coronavirus lockdown after he quit TV.

The former soap actor was followed by BBC cameras during his first few months working the land as he got to grips with his new career.

Across six episodes, Kelvin was seen learning how to shear sheep, drive and tractor and tend to the land on his farm near the Peak District.

However, on Monday night the show came to an abrupt end as Kelvin and his family threw a bash in their back garden for the whole village.

He and Liz were seen preparing drinks and working alongside their neighbours to set up the fête, which over 150 people attended.

Kelvin and new pal Gilly – who runs the neighbouring farm – were seen sharing a hug as she sobbed about their new close friendship.

Fans were sad to see the series come to an end, and flocked to Twitter following the emotional episode that saw the couple make friends.

“Kelvin’s Big Farming Adventure has been real comfort viewing. Hope there’s another series,” one fan wrote.

A second chimed in following the finale: “Please let there be a second series. Such a fab show, brings a smile every week.”

“Bloody brill show, all the best to you, Liz and the children. Please another farming adventure,” a third agreed.

While a fourth concluded: “Wish it could be an hour long. Hoping now for a second series.”

Kelvin’s Big Farming Adventure has proved to be a huge hit with viewers.

Despite the show’s popularity, the BBC are yet to reveal if the show will be back for season 2 to follow more of the family’s adventures.

During the first series viewers saw the family try to get the farm back to its former working glory – despite having zero farming experience.

Their no-nonsense next-door neighbour Gilly also featured on the show.

Before investing in their own livestock, viewers saw Kelvin and Liz get some hands-on experience with Gilly’s flock of sheep.

The show was filmed on Kelvin’s farm on the edge of the Peak District.

Last week, viewers were left horrified when Kelvin took one of the sheep he had reared to be slaughtered, before visiting a local butcher to see the results.

After he was shown the meat still on the carcass, Kelvin asked if he could buy some to take home and opted for one of the legs.

He was then seen showing his daughter Marnie, five, the meat back home in their kitchen.
