BREAKING NEWS: Sky News halted for King Charles breaking alert
Viewers all had the same concerns as the news channel cut to a live stream of the Royals.

Sky News was halted on Wednesday evening to bring a breaking update on King Charles and Queen Camilla. The news channel cut to a live stream from the British Museum in London, where the Monarch and his wife arrived to view the Bayeux Tapestry.
French President Emmanuel Macron also joined them. The presenter shared that the artwork has been sharing the story of relations between England and France for more then 1,000 years. She added: “But this is a big chapter in that story as it arrives back in the UK for the first time in all of that time… Getting to this moment has been an absolute effort in many respects. And it isn’t just about the logistics of having to transport such an old and fragile thing, but even with the democracy, there has been a lot of groundwork along the way.”
The reporter then went quiet to allow the showing of the Royals’ car arriving as another host cut in to comment on the relationship between the King and the French President. “They do enjoy a friendly rapport, don’t they, these men?” He said.
However, fans were not too impressed with the breaking news report. Posting to X/Twitter, one asked: “How does this benefit the people of England?”
As another questioned: “Breaking news? Why?” And a third commented: “Breaking wind is more interesting than this breaking news.”
The Bayeux Tapestry is a rare pictorial record of one of the most significant events in British history, the Norman Conquest of England. Its unique record of the events leading up to the Battle of Hastings in 1066 is a source of fascination for many, including the King.
Charles’s fascination with the 70ft piece of 11th-century history helped secure its safe return to British shores.
Confirming the historic loan last summer, French President Emmanuel Macron revealed that the King had been “instrumental in securing the agreement”.
Mr Macron described the loan of the tapestry as “a powerful symbol” of the close ties between the UK and France, while Mr Burnham hailed it as “a landmark moment in the history of our two nations”.
