A GB News presenter was abruptly taken off air after bursting into tears over the John Lewis Christmas advert.
The incident took place during The Late Show Live, where there was a discussion about the new advert featuring a dad and his teenage son.
In the sweet story, the dad opens up a vinyl record from his son that transports him back to his own youth and clubbing in the 90s.
While there, he encounters his son among the dancers before the ad cuts back to the present day and the pair embrace.
Presenter Patrick Christys said: ‘I love it. Let’s go straight to Bev Turner who is in Washington for us for The Late Show Live.’ He asked: ‘Oh, Bev has it got you?’
The presenter’s silence spoke for itself and she began to cry.

The incident took place during The Late Show Live, where there was discussion about the new advert featuring a dad and his teenage son. Bev explained that she found the advert ‘incredibly moving’
This inspired a nervous laugh from Patrick, who said: ‘I’m sorry, are you alright?’
Bev went on to explain why she was so touched by the hotly anticipated Christmas advert.
She admitted: ‘There is not a parent of teens that won’t find that incredibly moving because it taps into so much for my generation. For nostalgia and identity.
‘Music is so powerful. It takes you back.
‘It’s not coincidental that the teenager is wearing headphones. It’s the end of Christmas Day, dad is tidying up and the teen is a bit peripheral from the family.
‘There is an epidemic in the world at the minute where there are parents with teens who struggle to connect with them and most of the time it’s because kids are walking around with blooming headphones.’
The presenter said the advert was an important reminder for families to come together during the festive season, before she was cut off to compose herself off air.
Bev was not the only viewer to be touched by the advert and it’s been widely praised by other parents too.

The pair share a quiet moment before the man starts dancing again, forcing a laugh from the teenager. The ad (pictured) finishes with the message: ‘If you can’t find the words, find the gift’
Partially set in a nightclub, the ‘unexpected’ ad has delighted old-school raver dads, with one viewer writing on X that the department store has ‘won’ this year’s battle of the festive ads.
The ad finishes with the message: ‘If you can’t find the words, find the gift.’
‘Maybe it’s just the old 90s raver and DJ in me (yes, I had a life before being middle-aged) or I’m clearly bang on the demographic as a father with a teenager, but is this the best John Lewis ad ever?’ said one impressed viewer.
‘I’m an old school raver with teenage kids….Love the advert,’ said a second, while a third added: ‘John Lewis, what you doing to me? That dad hug at the end though.’
Another individual admitted: ‘Bawling at the new John Lewis Christmas ad. Best one yet for me.’
Rosie Hanley, John Lewis’s brand director, told the Daily Mail that while this year’s advert has ‘all the DNA’ the brand’s festive campaigns are known for, it is also quite ‘unexpected’.

For 2025, the ad features Alison Limerick’s 1990 dance tune Where Love Lives as a dad is transported back to a sweaty, overcrowded nightclub (pictured) after being gifted a vinyl of the track by his teenage son
Meanwhile actor Jack Aldridge, who plays the son, appeared on the This Morning sofa on Tuesday to discuss his involvement in the ad.
The young actor explained that, like the young boy in the ad, he too has bonded with his father over music.
He said: ‘I was raised on The Beatles by my dad, I’ve introduced him to Sam Fender since.
‘They didn’t tell me throughout the auditioning process what it was, I just knew it was for a retail brand.
‘I watched it last night for the first time, I had to arrange a Zoom meeting to watch it.
‘It’s hard to be objective about the things you’re in… I kept the blue jumper, that was my wrap gift.
‘I remember the John Lewis ads when I was growing up and talking about it the next day at school, comparing it to the previous ones.’
