A 00s TV classic is returning and BBC fans could not be happier about its comeback
BBC fans have been sent into a TV frenzy after learning that one of their favourite programmes from the noughties is about to make an epic return after it was archived over a decade ago.
For many, the BBC children’s game show Raven is classic for many of us who grew up in the 90s and 00s, with the show first gracing screens back in 2002
After an eight year success, the show was sadly axed in 2010 but returned once more seven years later totally rebranded and with an entirely new host.
The original version was fronted by James Mackenzie, 45, who was the epic warlord Raven who wore a feathered cape and holding his a staff to represent his superiority on the show.
When the programme rebooted years later Aisha Toussaint was at the helm but after just two seasons Raven was removed off air once more and never to be seen again, until now that is.

The original host took to his platform on X – formerly Twitter – to stir things up once more for his adoring fanbase. He shared the happy news that the show would now be available for streaming on BBC’s iPlayer.
James, who was the original host and also went on to star in Scotland’s fan-favourite soap opera River City, told his followers: “RAVEN IS BACK ON @BBCiPlayer what the actual??!! Enjoy young warriors, #letthechallengebegin.”

One fan penned beneath James’ poct: “ICONIC. This was MY childhood show,” another shared the same sentiments, adding: “Oh I will! Time to relive the best childhood known to man!!.”

A third excited viewer wrote: “Omg see everyone in 3-4 business days I have matters to attend to,” while another compared the show to BBC’s hit reality show Traitors.
They said: “Funny, I was just thinking this when I was watching Traitors. I missed this. I want more shows like this since I’ve learned I missed various ones that came out before/around the time I was born. This was great fun to watch.”
Others were just grateful for the nostalgia, adding: “Thanks for the tip! Time to re-visit my childhood,” and “I used to love watching this as a kid, glad the show (and its awesome host) are back.”
