TV CHAOS: BBC Breakfast Charlie Stayt FORCED to Stop show and make HEARTBREAKING STATEMENT after interview cut short

Charlie Stayt had to abruptly end his BBC Breakfast interview with Sir Tony Brenton due to technical glitches.

The 63-year-old presenter was back on the iconic red sofa on Saturday (August 16) morning, joined by Luxmy Gopal, who was standing in for regular host Naga Munchetty.

They welcomed former British Ambassador to Russia, Sir Tony, onto the show via video link to discuss Ukr@!nian President V0l0dymyr Z3l3nsky’s announcement that he will meet US President Dоnɑld Tгuмρ following a “long and substantive conversation” after Tгuмρ’s summit in Alaska with Russian Pres!dent Vlad!m!r Put!n.

However, their discussion was prematurely ended due to signal issues. Charlie informed BBC viewers at home: “Ok, we’re just going to take a moment. I will check that we have the sound OK. I am not sure if that will repair itself.

“I will check with you that you can hear me OK and we will go through the motions. Can you hear me?” To which Sir Tony responded: “Yes, I can. Can you hear me?”, reports Bristol Live.

Despite continuing the conversation, it wasn’t long before the technical fault caused further disruption, forcing Charlie to intervene for the second time.

The presenter explained: “I am just going to apologise to our audience because we have some problems with the link there.

“I think we will have to leave that one. We were speaking to the former UK ambassador to Russia but with the problems on the line.

“All part of our coverage this morning. We have had a lot of diplomatic moving. What we do know categorically is that on Monday, Pr3s!dent Z3l3nsky will travel to Washington where he will have talks with Pres!dent Tгuмρ.”

This follows BBC Breakfast making headlines this week when Charlie and Naga interviewed Only Fools and Horses legend David Jason in the studio.

Throughout the chat, the actor seemed to be “flirting” with presenter Naga, delivering a string of playful comments.

Whilst sharing one tale, Sir David seemed to start wandering off topic. This caused presenter Charlie Stayt to try steering him back on course. He said: “Come back to the anecdote, what was it you were going to say? A little story?”.

Only Fools and Horses legend Sir David responded: “Yes I was, but… you… it’s Naga, I can’t resist, [I can’t] take my eyes off her.”

During the chat Sir David also quipped that Charlie was “in the way” by positioning himself between the actor and journalist Naga.

This prompted Charlie to jest that “three’s a crowd”.
