QUIZ SHOW CHAOS! The 1% Club viewers ‘OUTRAGED’ as ‘NONSENSICAL AND STUPIDLY WORDED’ question wipes OUT wave of players just minutes into show – BUT CAN YOU GET IT RIGHT?

Viewers were left fuming after a ‘nonsensical and stupidly worded’ question wiped out a wave of players on The 1% Club just minutes into the show.

The ITV programme sees 100 hopefuls answer questions that were put to the public, with the percentage who got it right determining its difficulty in each round.

Aptly, the final question is one that just 1% of the public answered correctly.

On Saturday’s instalment, a question 90% of the population were able to answer was put to the contestants by host Lee Mack, 56.

It read: ‘Which of these is the largest? A) Circle, B) Triangle, C) Rectangle, or D) Square.’ The correct answer was C, Rectangle because it was the longest word.

However, despite it being the first and supposedly the easiest question of the game, 12 contestants answered incorrectly.

Afterwards, some fans took to social media to share their thoughts on the question, expressing how ‘outraged’ they were on X.

Someone posted: ‘Isn’t that a bit of a stupidly worded question? The actual question is “Which word is the longest?” not “which shape is the largest?”‘;

‘That was a brutal 90% question to be fair!!! #the1percentclub.’;

‘Rectangle??? Tricky 1st question!! #The1PercentClub.’;

‘This has weirdly outraged me… What a poorly worded question!’

In the end, Jasmine and Maisy made it to the 1% question and managed to bag a whopping £46,500 each.

A previous episode saw some fans clash over a question, with some claiming it lead contestants astray.

It read: ‘Without reordering any letters, how many animals appear in the sequence below?’ The sequence was, ‘PHEASANTORTOISEALION’.

All five remaining contestants answered it incorrectly and were knocked out of the round. But because they were the only participants left, they went through to the final question.

The answer was six, listing pheasant, tortoise, sealion, lion, seal and ant as the animals.

However, some viewers were left divided online and debated whether an ant is classed as an animal.
