Netflix’s hit new crime drama, which premiered on the streamer in July, has been renewed for a second season.
Netflix has hit the jackpot with its new murder mystery, hailed as one of the platform’s standout shows of 2025, which has just been greenlit for a second season.
The six-part detective series, often likened to HBO’s acclaimed True Detective, has garnered glowing reviews and soared to the top of Netflix’s TV rankings in July.
Eric Bana stars as Kyle Turner, a National Parks Service special agent in Untamed, portraying the seasoned detective as he unravels the enigmatic death of a young woman while grappling with his own personal loss.
The first season also featured performances by Sam Neill and Rosemarie DeWitt. While specifics about the upcoming season remain under wraps, Deadline has confirmed Bana’s return as Turner, ready to crack another case.

Series creator Mark L Smith, who developed the show alongside his daughter Elle Smith, shared with Tudum: “Elle and I envisioned it as a stand-alone, six episodes.
“But then the more that we got into it, it was just such a great cast … it was just like, ‘Oh yeah, how do we keep this going?'”
Fans are ecstatic about the series’ return, especially after Untamed racked up an astonishing 50 million views within its initial fortnight.
