SAD NEWS: “Gone at Just 11” – Child Star Nikodem Marecki D!ES TRAGICALLY as Heartbroken Film Director Leads Emotional Memorial Service

Nickodem Marecki tragically died at just 11 years old. The young actor was hit by a car moments after stepping off the school bus near Krakow, Poland. Emergency services rushed to the scene, and an air ambulance helicopter was deployed to transfer him to the hospital on Wednesday (November 26). A fire department spokesperson stated: “At 2.03pm, we were dispatched to a report of a pedestrian hit in Szczepanowice.

“The report indicated it involved a young person who remained conscious. Due to the nature of the incident, the Polish Air Rescue Service (LPR) was dispatched to the scene, and its officers secured the landing area, which facilitated the efficient transfer of the teenager to the hospital.” Despite their best efforts, Nikodem’s heartbroken family confirmed that their “beloved son, brother, and grandson” died the following day. The 11-year-old was a rising star who landed a major role in the 2024 multi-award-winning Polish war drama White Courage.

Director Marcin Koszałka called the tragedy a “terrible, great loss”, adding: “He was very talented and the world was opening up to him.”

In addition to White Courage, Nikodem had also appeared in the series Krakow Monsters and the film Zołza, where he played Karol Sobański, the son of the main character Anna.

Earlier this year, he landed a role in St. Anne’s Hospital as Igor Hajduk, the son of one of the protagonists.

Nikodem attended Kościuszko Primary School in Niedźwiedź, where he balanced his studies with work in film and television.

His funeral will take place tomorrow, December 3, as relatives and the Polish entertainment community prepare to say their final goodbyes.

In the full tribute, which was posted on Instagram alongside slides of the young star, Marcin, the White Courage director penned: “Terrible news. Nikodem Marecki, who in White Courage played the brother of the main heroine, Bronka, is dead.

“Nikodem ran from a school bus and was hit by a car. It’s a terrible, huge loss – he was incredibly talented, and the world stood in front of him. See you later.”

Taking to the comments in disbelief, one fan shared: “Dear God. Sympathy to the Family and Friends. Such a gorgeous little boy.”

As another echoed: “Awful. Unimaginable- sharing my pain with Family and loved ones.” A third commented: “This is such terrible news. My deepest condolences to the loved ones. May you rest in peace!”

A fourth added: “There are no words for such news on social media. No words for those beautiful, carefree eyes of a boy, no words for the forever broken heart of a family. Condolences and sympathy.”
