Vicky, 37, had trouble breaking through a Strictly banner on her way into the studio and joked her dancefloor journey should be easier.
She said she has watched the show for years and was flattered to be a part of it, adding that she just didn’t want to go out in the first week.
Bubbling with energy, she said: “Do you know it was just really nice to be asked like I watched the show for years. Me and me granma always used to sit down and watch it on Saturday nights. I’ve obviously had friends do it …
“I don’t have any grand designs on lifting that trophy. I’d just be happy not to be out first week.”
The Heart Radio star continued: “I am buzzing like an old fridge.
“Don’t get us wrong, I’m really excited I’m out of me comfort zone, opening myself up to a whole new audience … so I am terrified, can you tell?
“I’ve been in this industry 15 years now and I know I’m not the most talented, prettiest, but I promised myself I’d work the hardest .
“I’m going to try me absolute best I just hope they’re patient as I’m not the quickest learner!”
The Geordie Shore legend and I’m A Celebrity winner has long been linked with the show and will now take to the dancefloor at Elstree Studios.
It will be a role reversal from last year’s series, during which she was supported by best pal Pete Wicks.

Towie star Pete impressed, showing a fun side to his personality and delivering memorable routines that included a wild George of the Jungle effort.
We previously revealed bosses were keen to snap Vicky up.
A source said: “Vicky loved watching Pete on the series and was in awe of the detail that goes into every performance.
“She has great energy and will no doubt be a hit with the viewers.
“Vicky’s done plenty of reality shows but is ready to be out of her comfort zone on the dance floor.”
Newcastle-born Vicky found fame in 2011 on MTV UK’s Geordie Shore.
In 2015, she was crowned I’m A Celebrity’s Queen of the Jungle, later calling the show the “best thing” she had ever done.
She previously said she would not rule out appearing on Strictly Come Dancing — but admitted she would struggle on the dance floor.
She told The Sun last year: “I’ve done my fair share of reality TV and I’d never say never to anything but I’m not a dancer, at all.
“Like, when I found out Pete was doing Strictly, the first thing I did was ring him and see if he was okay.
“Because me and him are more ‘stand in the corner, drink and have a laugh’ than the ‘centre of the dance floor’ people.”
She added: “He was really nervous, and I think that’s how I’ll be.
“As I’ve gotten a bit older, I just feel like I get out of my comfort zone less and less.
“And I know that’s not a good thing and I should be pushing myself out of it sometimes.”
