‘OBSESSED SINCE I WAS LITTLE’: Dylan Dreyer REVEALS Which of the 5 New Epic Universe Worlds Is Her Favorite

Dylan Dreyer is still a kid at heart.
The Today show meteorologist and co-anchor of the third hour flew down to Orlando, Fla., with the show to broadcast live on May 21 from Universal’s Epic Universe theme park. Of the five new worlds to explore, Dreyer says the park’s video-game inspired one is her favorite.
“The Nintendo world, 100%. I mean, we play either Super Mario Party or Mario Kart every single weekend. Every single weekend! My boys are obsessed,” Dreyer, 43, tells PEOPLE exclusively. “I’ve been obsessed with Nintendo since I was little.”
The other themes include The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic, How to Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk, Dark Universe and Celestial Park.

Dreyer shares her three sons — Cal, 8, Ollie, 5, and Rusty, 3 — with husband Brian Fichera.
Earlier this month, ahead of the park’s grand opening on May 22, Dreyer says she was even able to bring the kids along when she got to explore Super Nintendo World in order to shoot a segment.
“They got to ride the rides!” she says, recalling her boys’ excitement. Though, “Rusty was just a little short,” she adds.
With three boys under 8, Dreyer is always on the go at home, not to mention the recent uptick in her travel schedule. In March, she was in Paris working on a story, and in April, the show’s third hour broadcast live from a cruise ship for the MSC World America’s maiden voyage.
Despite all of the trips, Dreyer says that ironically she gets more sleep when she’s on the go.
“[My] three boys, at some point, they will wake up at night. Each one will wake up at some point. And then there’s a dog in my bed. So when I’m on the road, even if I only get five hours of sleep, it’s a solid five hours of sleep!” she says with a laugh. “I don’t think I woke up once last night.”

The Today show also pre-taped the Thursday, May 22nd episode of their show during their whirlwind 48 hours in Florida. Braving 97 degree weather, the anchors hopped right off flights from New York City on Tuesday after their morning Today broadcast and jumped right into all that Orlando has to offer.
Thanks to Visit Orlando, who sponsored the show, Dreyer and fellow anchors Craig Melvin and Al Roker filmed in nearby town Winter Park, where they sampled local cuisine, shopping and even spoke with Michael James Scott, an Orlando native who plays the Genie in Broadway’s Aladdin.
And, off camera, the anchors also celebrated Melvin’s 46th birthday.

“Part of what I love doing when we’re on the road is spending time together,” Dreyer says of traveling with her fellow anchors. “We get to do really fun things together.”
Roker, 70, agrees, and he’s also partial to the variety of experiences the central Florida city has to offer.
“I think it’s just the availability of different kinds of things. Whether you want theme parks, you want nature. I’ve done hang gliding here, I’ve done parasailing. You can do almost anything here in Orlando,” he tells PEOPLE. “It really is spectacular.”
