BREAKING: Gogglebox Star Roisin Kelly Makes FIRST STATEMENT After Being SHOCKINGLY AXED by Channel 4

Scottish Gogglebox star Roisin Kelly has spilled the beans on the truth behind her and Joe’s bombshell exit from the Channel 4 show, which returned this weekend for a brand new series. In a frank TikTok ‘get ready with me’ video, the Glasgow-born television star tackled their abrupt departure after three and a half years, disclosing the real reasons behind their exit.
Roisin kicked off the clip by stating: “Obviously Gogglebox was back on last night and we seen a lot of comments saying ‘where are Joe and Roisin’. We were ‘brutally axed’.” She continued: “We weren’t asked back to do series 26. They had just said they wanted to take the show in another direction, away from our house. There’s not really any lore or any stories to it.” The Scottish duo’s exit left Gogglebox fans flabbergasted, with numerous viewers calling the choice utterly “insane”. Despite this, the pair have kept a strikingly positive outlook regarding the situation, with Roisin recently amending her Instagram bio to declare “brutally axed from Gogglebox”.

The couple are now being replaced by two new Scottish duos – sisters Suzie, 70, and Rosie, 68 from Edinburgh, plus best mates Callum, 31, and Jake, 27, from Glasgow.
They appear among five new households joining the Channel 4 show. Roisin stressed that there’s no bad blood between herself, Joe and the production team, saying: “We were good friends with all the producers and that’s the thing that’s sad. Firstly, you need to get over the ego part of like being booted off.
“I don’t know who made the decision. I think it was Channel 4’s decision but you don’t know who it was in Channel 4, you don’t know why, you don’t know the inner workings so there’s no point trying to like guess and go over and over it cos you’ll never know.
“We had an amazing time on the show. You need to be grateful for the opportunity. Not many people can say they got to be on Gogglebox and watch TV for money.”
When asked about a potential return to Gogglebox, Roisin stated: “I mean I don’t think that’s an option. I get lots of questions about Gogglebox with people recently asking me if I could put in a good word for them.” She quipped: “Not really no, if you find out who to ask, put in a good word for me as well. Free Joe and Roisin – bring us back.”
However, she revealed that there’s another show that she and Joe are eyeing up, stating: “If anyone knows how to get us on Race Across the World, maybe we’ll do that instead.”
Roisin added: “There are a few articles saying we’re going into the jungle on I’m a Celebrity but I feel like sitting on your a*** for three years watching TV, in our case, probably doesn’t qualify you for I’m A celeb but it’s nice to be included in the rumours.”

The beloved Scottish duo announced their exit from the upcoming series of the Channel 4 programme at the end of July, issuing a joint statement to confirm their departure.
They said: “After three and a half years of sitting on the sofa, Channel 4 have decided it’s time for Joe and I to stretch our legs and have not asked us back for season 26. Therefore we are leaving the Gogglebox family.
“It’s been an honour to represent Scotland as some of the first Scottish people on the show and prove we don’t actually need subtitles. We have made friends for life and after filming every week for years you have become like our family! We could not have asked for better people to work with and we will miss you immensely.”
