The South African entertainment world is in mourning following the sudden death of actress and television presenter Londiwe Faith Nene, who passed away aged just 35. Her family confirmed the heartbreaking news on Monday, revealing that Faith died on Saturday, October 11, 2025. In a statement shared on Instagram, they said: “As a family, we are deeply heartbroken by this loss and kindly ask for privacy as we navigate through this time of sorrow.”
The statement continued: “Your understanding, compassion and prayers mean a great deal to us as we find strength and comfort in one another.” The cause of death has not yet been officially confirmed, but her family has indicated suspicions of poisoning, with early reports suggesting it may have been self-inflicted. Faith was best known for her vibrant performances and quick wit on Moja Love shows such as Bheka Sik’bambile and uThando noXolo, where she worked as a presenter.

Faith’s sister, Lethukuthula Nene, spoke through tears after confirming the family’s fears about the cause of death. She said: “She drank poison. That is what it seems like. But we will get all the details on time from professionals. But it was poison; she drank poison.”
Lethukuthula added that her sister had shown no sign of distress beforehand: “We really don’t know why she did this. Everything was okay – well, we thought.”
The family is now awaiting an official autopsy report to confirm the circumstances surrounding her death.
