THE child star of Adolescence has landed a huge new role after rave reviews in the gritty new drama.

Owen Cooper plays the lead role of 13-year-old Jamie Miller in new Netflix drama Adolescence, which stars Ashley Walters and Stephen Graham.

For those not in the know, Adolescence centres around a young boy who is accused of murder, and one single shot is used to tell the story in each of its four episodes.

Jamie Miller actor Owen, 15, has now landed a huge new role with an A-list actor and Oscar winner.

Opening up in a new interview, Owen even lifts the lid on what it’s been like working with the famous stars in the new flick he has been working on.

Owen will star in Emerald Fennel’s remake of Wuthering Heights, which is based on the 1847 novel by Emily Brontë.

As well as Owen, the movie stars Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi and is scheduled to be theatrically released on February 13, 2026.

Call The Midwife and Barbie star Emerald, 39, is an Oscar-winning filmmaker who famously worked on Promising Young Woman and Saltburn.

When Owen stars in the Wuthering Heights remake, he will be playing young Heathcliff, with the older version of Heathcliff played by Jacob Elordi.

Jacob, 27, is an A-List actor who has starred in the likes of Priscilla, Euphoria and Saltburn.

Having met Jacob since starring in upcoming movie Wuthering Heights, Owen has lifted the lid on what he is really like.

Speaking to i-D about his new role, Owen said that Jacob is “such a nice guy”.

“My family can say the same as well,” he added.

Also in his chat with the outlet, Owen spoke about working on the set of Netflix’s Adolescence.

“I was shocked, before acting and stuff, I just thought nobody [on set] would want to speak to me,” he said.

“But as soon as I got onto the set of Adolescence, I realised I was surrounded by the right people.”

Adolescence has received rave reviews on social media since it dropped onto Netflix.

“#Adolescence is a masterpiece. But the fact that each episode was filmed in one take. I cant wrap my mind around it,” said one person on X.

Another person added: “#Adolescence on @netflix is so good. For being 4 episodes, one hour each, each episode one continuous, one-take shot, acting on point AND with a message that every parent (and adult male for that matter) should take heed in – required viewing. 10/10 would recommend.”

While a third wrote: “The acting in adolescence is so insane, genuinely soo mad they shot every episode in one take. British actors / actresses stay on top.”

All four episodes of Adolescence are available to watch now on Netflix.
