The 80-year-old Al Michaels and Kirk Herbstreit began their fourth season of “Thursday Night Football” for Amazon Prime Video last week. The two are back in the booth tonight for an AFC East clash at Highmark Stadium, essentially a must-win for Miami.
During the first half, Michaels stated that some “good” teams aren’t “interesting.” The legendary sports commentator then praised Josh Allen’s squad as “a great team to watch,” per Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team.
Fans are convinced that Al Michaels was throwing shade at the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles, amid growing frustration from rival teams and fans about the “tush push.”
“Shot at the Eagles & Chiefs if I’ve ever heard one,” said a user.

“Wild: Did Al Michaels just throw some serious shade at the Eagles…,” asked Dov Kleiman.
“Is Al Michaels really taking shots at the Eagles right now while talking about “some teams are good but not fun to watch”… it’s been Birds vs the media all week… WINNING FOOTBALL IS FUN,” a fan said.
“Al Michaels just said, “some good teams aren’t fun to watch, but the Buffalo Bills are fun to watch.” I think he’s referring to the Eagles,” wrote another.
“Aka The Philadelphia Eagles,” a user commented.
For what it’s worth, Michaels and Herbstreit will call the Eagles’ Week 6 road game against the New York Giants and their Black Friday home tilt with the Chicago Bears on Nov. 28.
