Meghan Markle has publicly reacted to the news of Taylor Swift’s engagement to NFL player Travis Kelce. The 44-year-old, who is recently said to have been convinced that the American singer-songwriter “overshadowed” her earlier this month, is seen among the, at the time of writing, 25 million fans who have ‘liked’ Taylor’s Instagram post.

In the ‘Cruel Summer’ songstress’ post, she wrote: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married [red-bomb emoji].” The caption was shared alongside five pictures taken of the loved-up couple, including a close-up of her incredible ring.

Meghan’s reaction comes just two weeks after she reportedly felt that Taylor “overshadowed” her with the announcement of her 12th upcoming studio album, The Life of a Showgirl.

Taylor, 35, made the big reveal – inlcuding the album cover – on Travis and his brothers’s podcast, ‘New Heights’ – with the announcement taking place within hours of Meghan’s reveal of the release date for the second series of With Love, Meghan.

Just hours earlier, Meghan took to social media to share that the second series of her Netflix show would be released on August 26.

Alongside the highly-anticipated trailer, Meghan’s post on August 15 read: “The best moments are made to be shared [gold-sparkle emoji] With Love, Meghan returns August 26th on @netflix.”

In an exclusive report by royal commentator Rob Shuter, Meghan is said to have not been happy with Taylor. Mr Shuter reports the former senior royal allegedly believed that the American singer-songwriter intentionally diverted the attention onto herself.

Speaking of the trailer for series two of With Love, Meghan, a source said: “Meghan thought her trailer would own the news cycle.”

The source then added: “Then Taylor’s announcement came in like a wrecking ball. Meghan’s convinced it wasn’t just bad luck.”

Revealing how Meghan reportedly felt, the source continued: “She saw this as her comeback moment, then Taylor took all the oxygen out of the room.”
