King Charles’ speech pays tribute to Prince William
Yesterday saw the beginning of the French state visit, the first state visit by a European leader since Brexit.
At the banquet, hosted by King Charles and Queen Camilla and attended by Prince William and Kate Middleton, the monarch gave a speech about the UK and France’s relationship.
The speech also featured a powerful tribute to the heir to the throne, Prince William.
“The Castle in which we meet this evening was begun by my ancestor – and your sometime countryman – William, Duke of Normandy, in the year 1070,” Charles said in his speech. “It remains the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world.”
“So it is perhaps rather appropriate that my son, The Prince of Wales, who shares that earlier William’s name, has made Windsor his home with his family, like so many of our predecessors,” he then said.

Harry’s plan for reconciliation
However, the monarch failed to mention his other son, Prince Harry in the speech.
The king’s snubbing of the Duke of Sussex once again highlights the ongoing rift between the royal family and Prince Harry.
However, Harry reportedly has a plan to reconcile with the royals, and it doesn’t involve Meghan.
According to Radar Online, the duke is willing to travel to the UK, alone, for some face to face meetings with the royals in a bid to improve relations.
“Harry didn’t expect the fallout to drag on this long. He’s beginning to see that including Meghan only complicates things with the royals, so he’s accepted – though not happily – that going it alone might be the only option for now,” a source told the publication.

Harry’s hopes for royal family reconiliation amid King Charles snub
The source then continued.
“He’s finally realised that the way he handled things before hasn’t brought any progress, and this marks a genuine shift in how he’s trying to move forward,” they then said.
“It’s incredibly hard for him. He cares deeply for Meghan, but he can’t deny the reality of the situation anymore. If there’s any hope of reconnecting with his family, he knows he has to try without her. And he knows he will have to make a trip back to Britain without her with his tail between his legs and begging bowl in his hands. He wants back into the royal fold and is feeling totally lost in America – it’s Meghan’s home and world, not his,” they then added.
The news comes not long after Harry admitted in a BBC interview that he wants reconiliation with his family.
In the interview, he revealed that his father isn’t currently speaking to him either.
