FAILURE: ITV The Chase’s Shaun Wallace Issues BLUNT STATEMENT After Fans Express ANGER and COMPLAINTS

Shaun Wallace issued a short statement after he let two players get the better of him on The Chase. Bradley Walsh was joined by contestants Paul, Roisin, Zoe and Albert, who were hoping to walk away with some cash during Monday’s instalment of the ITV quiz show. After Paul and Roisin were both knocked out, it was up to Zoe and Albert to try and beat The Dark Destroyer. Zoe, a masters student from Buckinghamshire, managed to answer five questions correctly in her cash builder and proved she had impressive knowledge after outrunning the chaser.
Hoping to join his teammate was Albert, 77, who brought £3,000 to the table after his cashbuilder. The retired construction engineer knew he needed to help Zoe in the final chase and decided to take the low offer of £1,000. Playing for £3,000 each, Zoe and Albert ended on a total of 13. Although this is rarely a winning score, Shaun couldn’t keep up and the pair walked away with the money.

After the defeat, Shaun said: “Talk about snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Anyway, well done.”
While fans were happy for the players, they were left furious after claiming Shaun allowed them to win on purpose, adding that he would’ve played better if their prize pot was higher.
Taking to social media, one wrote: “Absolutely, two of the most beautiful people ever on the #TheChase and Shaun felt the same way and let them win. There’s no way he would’ve lost with a 13 score and two contestants left.”
A second agreed: “Bit fishy, isn’t it? Never seen him miss so many and he took a lot of time for the answers. Shaun liked our uncle Albert and Zoe.”
A third claimed that Shaun “purposely” lost the game as another echoed: “Shaun throws another #thechase, losing to a score of 13 between two people.”

Someone else chimed in: “That was obvious Shaun lost on purpose.”
After the game, Zoe said she would use the money to travel to Indianapolis, while Albert said he was going to save a few hundred pounds for a guitar and leave the rest for his grandchildren.
Bradley was quick to praise the duo, saying: “You have been fantastic and enchanting. It’s been a pleasure meeting you, Albert, an absolute pleasure. And Zoe, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed meeting you.”
