MasterChef Australia welcomed Meghan Markle onto the programme as a guest judge. The Duchess of Sussex, 44, filmed the episode in Melbourne in April, during a four-day tour of Australia with Prince Harry. Contestants were set the task of transforming a staple ingredient into a dish “fit for a duchess”, although the duchess herself urged her fellow judges to “call me Meghan”.
In an unexpected moment, the Duke of Sussex, 41, surprised viewers and his other half with a cameo appearance. During the episode, Prince Harry called Meghan to check in, with producers handing her the phone. She greeted him by saying “hi, my love,” and afterwards called him “a charmer”.

Body language expert Inbaal Honigman has shared how Meghan reacted to the sweet interruption and suggested the moment gave viewers a rare insight into the couple’s marriage.
She told Casino: “Prince Harry joining in a video call, sees Meghan’s body language become super proud. Her chin rises with pride, while her eyes soften with the gratitude she feels for her husband for taking the time to ‘pop in’.
This is clearly not spontaneous; it is planned, and was possibly hard to plan, so her gratitude is understandable.
Just before they hang up, the top of her nose scrunches in playfulness and disbelief. She’s thankful but also shocked that they pulled this trick off. The scrunched nose is playful and flirty, and is the most natural and personal expression she shares during the whole broadcast.”
The body language expert added: “For the rest of the show, Meghan attempts to remain classy, elegant and collected, but in front of her beloved husband, she allows herself to be a bit flirty.”
Meghan’s appearance on MasterChef Australia comes after her own lifestyle and cookery show, With Love, Meghan, which sees her share cooking and hosting tips with friends and guests.
Her show has secured a nomination at the Daytime Emmy Awards, in the Outstanding Lifestyle Program category.
Earlier this month, Prince Harry and Meghan, along with their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, visited the UK.
