Sheinelle Jones has been noticeably absent from Today since last year, and in January, she addressed fans’ concerns by revealing that she was taking time away from the show to deal with a “family health matter.”

Her candid update offered some clarity to viewers who had been wondering about her prolonged absence, though she has yet to confirm when she might return to the programme.

Today fans who have been eagerly awaiting host Sheinelle Jones’ book will have to wait longer as she continues her absence from the Today show to deal with a ‘family matter.’

Sheinelle who is one of the much-loved hots of Today 3rd Hour, in January told concerned fans she was taking time off to cope with a family health matter.

The Sun Online revealed the book will now be released on October 21 by Penguin Random House. Sheinelle, who is a show favorite has remained away from TV, and has not posted to social media since her statement.

The TV star first announced in September she was writing a book called Through Mom’s Eyes: Simple Wisdom From Mothers Who Raised Extraordinary Humans. She delighted fans on Today, when she said: “If you are a mom, a grandma, an auntie, a big sister, a cousin, if you take care of any children, and I say children ages 0 to even 62, because mothering never stops, this is my love letter to you.”

In a statement on Instagram, Jones penned: “Hi everybody….I sincerely appreciate all of you who have reached out while I’ve been absent from the show. I want to share with you that I’m taking time to deal with a family health matter. It’s not lost on me how lucky I am to have not only the support of my Today Show family, but to also have all of you. Your kindness means so much to me. I’ll see you soon. Love, Sheinelle.”

During the Wednesday, Jan. 15 broadcast, Jones’ Today co-host Savannah Guthrie said: “We want to share some news here about our friend Sheinelle. We know so many of you have been asking about Sheinelle and missing her and we miss her too.” She then went on to read off Jones’ personal statement on-air. After the update, her other co-host Craig Melvin sweetly added: “We all love you and we are so looking forward to having you back.”

Under Jones’ latest post, fans shared an outpouring of love for the television personality and sent well-wishes for her and her family. One person commented: “You are a queen and are LOVED beyond measure! Wrapping our arms around you, always.” Another fan added: “Sending prayers and positivity to you and your family.” And a third supporter responded: “Thank you for posting. Wishing you and your family health and happiness.”

While Jones did not specify which family member was facing health issues, she is currently married to consultant Uche Ojeh and is a mother of three children. During her marriage, Jones welcomed her 14-year-old Kayin and her 12-year-old twins Clara and Uche.
