NEW CHAPTER Colson Smith EMBRACES FRESH START With BBC Radio Leeds Role After HEROIC EXIT From Coronation Street
AXED Coronation Street star Colson Smith has revealed his first new job away from the soap.
This week, the 26-year-old’s character PC Craig Tinker was heartbreakingly killed in the line of duty – leaving viewers in floods of tears.

Colson, who grew up on the cobbles after joining in 2011, was told his character would die during the soap’s recent cull.
Revealing his next steps, Colson said he’s swapping TV for radio as he joins BBC Radio Leeds as a presenter this summer.
Colson told fans: “Thank you so much for all the love this week! I really appreciate it!
“Some of you have been asking, what next for me?
“There’s a few exciting things going off!!
“BUT one thing I can tell you for now, is that I’m joining the team at BBC Radio Leeds this summer!!!
“Catch ya on the wireless in Yorkshire!!”
Craig’s final scenes saw him try to arrest villain Mick Michaelis (Joe Layton). for driving under the influence – as well as over concerns he’d hurt wife Lou (Farrel Hegarty).
Unfortunately, Mick overpowered the young policeman and brutally attacked him with a bat – leaving Craig for dead.
He succumbed to his serious injuries in hospital.
