Kelly Clarkson couldn’t help but get emotional watching a compilation reel of her kids’ guest appearances on “The Kelly Clarkson Show”over the past six years.
Clarkson, 42, shared the reel March 20 in honor of the 1000th episode of her daytime talk show, which debuted in 2019. The footage featured special moments Clarkson’s daughter, River Rose, 10, and son Remy, 8, have shared with her guests, including Jason Momoa, Justin Timberlake and Anna Kendrick.
It also included a snippet of Remy’s adorable performance of Frank Sinatra’s signature song “My Way” from November 2024.
“That was really sweet,” Clarkson said, clapping, as the video concluded. “Oh, that was really sweet.”
“And look, I kept it together, you guys,” she continued, wiping her eyes.
“River and Remy, I love you so much. I’m so proud of you both,” she added. “They’re just fearless and very bold. They’re more like me as an adult, not what I was like as a child, so they talk a lot, too. You are what I’m liking today, my little ones, and every day I love them so much.”
Clarkson shares Remy and River Rose with her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock. The Grammy winner filed for divorce from Blackstock in June 2020 after nearly seven years of marriage.
Clarkson’s appearance on the March 20 episode “The Kelly Clarkson Show” comes amid weeks of on-off absences from her series.
TODAY’s Willie Geist, Brooke Shields, Josh Groban, Simu Liu and Wanda Sykes have all stepped in to host the program while Clarkson has been away. Liu revealed during the March 3 episode that he was asked to serve as host only moments before appearing onstage.
The “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)” singer returned to her show March 18 to interview “Severance” star Adam Scott and musician Marc Rebillet. During the episode, Clarkson wowed fans with her rendition of Will Swinton’s 2024 break-up song “Flames” during her Kellyoke segment.
The following day, however, Clarkson was absent from her show again. Bravo personality Andy Cohen stepping to guest host.
Clarkson kicked off her 1000th episode on Thursday with a show-stopping performance of Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing.”
