Former reality TV star Tamika Sueann-Rose Chesser faces a grim murder charge after her boyfriend, Julian Story, was found decapitated in their South Australia home on June 19 amid a small fire. The 39-year-old’s severed and headless remains were discovered in the bathroom of a Port Lincoln house, prompting a full-scale investigation that led to 34-year-old Tamika’s arrest.

As the search intensifies for Julian’s missing head, authorities suspect it was removed post-mortem around midnight on June 17, with his body subsequently burned and left in the home they shared.

Two days following the macabre find,  officers found Tamika immobilized in a garden and took her into custody; court details show she appeared catatonic and unresponsive.

Tamika is charged with not only the alleged murder but also interfering with human remains to impede justice, as well as an assault on a police officer, according to The Telegraph.

The mystery of Julian’s missing head has prompted an appeal to the public from law enforcement, desperate for leads in what they describe as a disconcerting crime scene where Julian’s body had been dismantled.

The official police record highlights the horror discovered at the scene: “It was a confronting scene for police and emergency services personnel as Julian’s body had been dismembered. Julian’s head had been removed during the dismemberment and, despite extensive searches, has not yet been located.”

Addressing reporters, Detective Superintendent Darran Fielke confirmed the grisly nature of the case without disclosing specifics: “While I won’t provide any further detail about that at this time, I can tragically say that we have not recovered the head of Julian Story.

“I can only imagine, and I want you to imagine, the grief this news is causing Julian’s family. Recovering Julian’s head to return it to his family so they can have a peaceful outcome, have a funeral and lay him to rest is a really important aspect for us.”

Reports suggest that Tamika, found in a non-responsive state upon arrest, exhibited no apparent motive for her alleged actions. According to documents cited by ABC, police reported that upon their arrival, Tamika “was seated in a garden chair in the rear yard adjacent to unit 3 in a catatonic and unresponsive state.”

Detective Superintendent Fielke made an appeal: “I’m appealing to local residents to review CCTV or dash cam footage which they may have, which may assist the investigation.”

A previous court order had kept Tamika’s identity hidden, but this restriction was lifted on Friday in Adelaide Magistrates Court by Magistrate Ben Sale. The lift also allows reporting on the allegations surrounding the death and ongoing investigation.

Tamika was denied bail during her court appearance via video link and remains under a mental health detention order. Her next court date is set for December.
