Big Tech billionaires such as Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg angered onlookers at Donald Trump’s inauguration – all because of where they sat

Public outcry arose after people discovered where big tech billionaires were seated at Donald Trump’s inauguration.

Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg, Google’s Sundar Pichai, and X Corp.’s Elon Musk enjoyed prime spots, while other attendees appeared to be less favorably placed.

On Twitter, US Senator Elizabeth Warren remarked: “Big Tech billionaires have a front row seat at Trump’s inauguration. They have even better seats than Trump’s own cabinet picks. That says it all.”

Another individual noted: “Noteworthy that Trump’s cabinet officials are seated in the *second* row of the rotunda. Who’s in the first row? Jeff Bezos, Sundar Pichai, Elon Musk, and half a dozen other billionaires who control America’s information sharing sites.”

Moreover, another voice chimed in with concerns about the ruling class. They wrote: “When the inauguration prominently displays Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, Miriam Adelson and other Trump mega donors – we’ve become an oligarchy.”

Elon Musk, particularly close to Donald Trump during recent months, was appointed to serve on the president-elect’s panel, leading the Department of Government Efficiency alongside Vivek Ramaswamy. Musk has been seen frequently with Trump, including family photo ops and speaking engagements at pre-election rallies. Having poured nearly $300 million into Trump’s campaign efforts, Musk’s invitation to the inauguration was expected by many.

Billionaire Jeff Bezos, who recently expressed optimism about a potential second Trump presidency, calling it an “extraordinary political comeback”, has also shown his support financially, donating $1 million to Trump’s inauguration fund and even visiting the President’s Florida resort in December. Meanwhile, tech moguls Mark Zuckerberg and Sundar Pichai seem to be trying to stay in Trump’s good books, with their companies each donating $1 million to the Trump fund.

Additionally, Zuckerberg is hosting an inauguration party, and a Google spokesperson stated: “Google is pleased to support the 2025 inauguration, with a livestream on YouTube and a direct link on our homepage. We’re also donating to the inaugural committee.”
