Lorraine star Lucie Cave was quick to move on after a Hollywood actress was left fighting back tears during an emotional on-air moment.

During Wednesday’s (August 6) episode of the ITV hit chat show, Lucie was joined by S3x in the City star Kristin Davis, who played Charlotte York on the show.

The 60-year-old actress gives viewers a glimpse into what viewers can expect for her character’s storyline for the rest of series three of the spin off show, And Just Like That.

However things took an emotional turn as Kristin became visibly moved while discussing how her much-loved character changed her life. Lucie asked: “Charlotte has played such a huge part in our lives, what have you learned to appreciate from playing Charlotte?”

In a heartfelt moment, Kristin admitted: “It’s hard to separate really because I’ve been playing her for so long and sometimes people ask me questions and it’s hard to be objective.”

She continued: “ I think the thing about Charlotte that is interesting over this huge amount of time that she has been in my life is that she wanted a whole set of things that were not really what I ever wanted. I wanted a set of things that she allowed me to have because it had to do with my creative expression and career.”

The actress got teary eyed as she explained: “She gave me those gifts, which will quite make me cry, because I was satisfied with my job, I was able to think about what else I wanted and when I was young I never thought about those things.”

Attempting to lift the mood, Lucy was swift to move on as she said: “I’ll change the tone now.” It comes as HBO recently announced that the reboot of 90s and early noughties show will come to a close after its third season.

Showrunner Michael Patrick King explained on Instagram that as he wrote the last episode, “it became clear to me that this might be a wonderful place to stop”.

Named after its heroine Carrie Bradshaw’s signature catchphrase, the comedy-drama series follows the romances of three of the four original characters as they live out their 50s in New York.

A two-part finale is yet to air. King said cast and crew “held off announcing the news until now because we didn’t want the word ‘final’ to overshadow the fun of watching the season”.

After the announcement, Kristin admitted: “I am profoundly sad.” Meanwhile co-star Sarah Jessica Parker, who plays Bradshaw, shared a photo montage from across both series, adding that the character had “dominated my professional heartbeat for 27 years” but now “this chapter [is] complete”.

She said And Just Like That “was all joy, adventure, the greatest kind of hard work alongside the most extraordinary talent. ”

It will be forever before I forget,” Parker wrote. “I hope you love these final two episodes as much as we all do.”
