Celebrity chef Gino D’Acampo is facing multiple allegations of sexually inappropriate and intimidating behaviour spanning over a 12-year period, which he strongly denies.

The 48-year-old Italian TV personality has expressed feeling both “betrayed” and “hurt” by these accusations, asserting that they are false and unfounded.

A source close to D’Acampo revealed that the TV star has instructed his legal team to vigorously fight the allegations.

He is reportedly determined to clear his name, stating that he would go to great lengths to defend himself against the claims.

Despite the controversy surrounding him, Gino remains resolute in his belief that he can continue his career, insisting to friends that he is innocent.

The allegations, which have been brought to light following an investigation by ITV News,

involve incidents of sexually inappropriate behaviour during filming of TV shows that Gino has worked on. Some of the accusers describe their encounters with the chef as “unacceptable” and “distressing.” According to ITV News, at least one production company had prior knowledge of the complaints, yet chose to continue collaborating with D’Acampo on future projects.

One of the accusers, referred to as Hannah, recalled a disturbing incident during a 2011 magazine shoot. Further claims surfaced regarding a 2019 incident, in which Gino allegedly made an aggressive remark to a young crew member over an ice cream. A woman who witnessed the incident said the remark stuck in her head for years, describing the chef’s behaviour as bullying and intimidating. Another crew member accused Gino of making crude comments about a colleague’s physical appearance during a shoot for the show Gordon, Gino, and Fred’s Road Trip in 2018. In response, D’Acampo’s legal team has refuted the claims, with the chef asserting that he does not recall the events in question.

In light of the growing controversy, ITV has pulled Gino’s shows from their upcoming schedules, including his latest series Gino’s Italian Odyssey. The network has come under scrutiny for its handling of the allegations, as it has been revealed that some production companies were aware of concerns about D’Acampo’s behaviour but chose to continue working with him.

Despite the backlash, Gino remains defiant. He expressed his deep disappointment at being accused of misconduct, stating that he has always maintained a professional and respectful environment on set. In a statement issued to ITV News, he expressed his shock at the allegations, asserting that he would never intentionally upset or distress anyone.
