His farming show was recently branded a ‘rip off’ of Jeremy Clarkson’s hit farming programme.
But Kelvin Fletcher has insisted his show Kelvin’s Big Farming Adventure is not the same, noting that it is a ‘different show’ to the Grand Tour star’s Clarkson’s Farm, while stating he was already months into filming when the rival show first aired.
Speaking on Tuesday’s This Morning, the former Emmerdale actor, 38, also gushed over Jeremy’s programme, revealing he and wife Liz Marsland are ‘big fans’.

When asked by host Alison Hammond if he took any ‘tips’ from Jeremy’s show, Kelvin noted that there are several other farming shows that are inspiring, as he said: ‘Clarkson’s has been brilliant hasn’t it?

‘And there’s so many of those programmes, Channel 5 have got one with Yorkshire Farm and Matt Baker’s got one, we’ve been huge fans of those shows anyway!’
When Alison then questioned whether those show’s ‘helped him’, Kelvin told how he was already several months into filming before Jeremy’s show even hit screens.
‘We were already three, four months into filming when Clarkson’s came out. For me, they all represent something different, they all showcase what that industry is.

Swarming Twitter with comments about Kelvin’s six-part show, many highlighted the similarities, while The Telegraph dished out a two star review with references to Clarkson’s Farm, yet the I was more complimentary with four stars, to match up with the many viewers who claimed they ‘loved’ the show.

Hit: The show cannot escape the likenesses to the depiction of Jeremy’s attempts to run the 1,000 acre Diddly Squat Farm in Oxfordshire, which he purchased just before the coronavirus pandemic hit
The show cannot escape the likenesses to the depiction of Jeremy’s attempts to run the 1,000 acre Diddly Squat Farm in Oxfordshire, which he purchased just before the coronavirus pandemic hit. Likenesses have also been drawn between Our Yorkshire Farm and Sarah Beeny’s New Life in the Country.
Kelvin previously referenced the similarities in an interview with the Daily Mail saying: ‘Well, if the BBC want to pay me what Amazon are paying Clarkson, that would be fine with me. We were talking to the BBC about other things entirely and this came up. There’s a huge appetite for this sort of show and they’re all very different’.
Following the show’s recent inaugural episode, fans shared their thoughts on Twitter.

‘People saying the BBC make quality programming. On BBC 1 right now is a Jeremy Clarkson The Farm rip off with Kelvin Fletcher… Kelvin are you not embarrassed that you’re completely ripping off @JeremyClarkson?…
‘What a joke. The reviews have not been kind. #COVID19… How much does Kelvin fletcher want to copy @JeremyClarkson with his new farm.’
Alongside her two star review, The Telegraph’s Anita Singh wrote: ‘A television personality with no farming experience buys a farm and attempts to run it, with often comical results. Stop me if you’ve heard this one before. It’s impossible to describe Kelvin’s Big Farming Adventure as anything other than a shameless rip-off off.’
Others however were more favourable, with fans writing: ‘@kelvin_fletcher watched your programme last night and loved it, you are both so down to earth, Liz is so funny, congratulations on your lovely news of the twins, your children are adorable, hope the farm is a success for you both…
