The Prime Minister has vowed to protect Jewish communities

Matt Goodwin has launched a scathing 𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘢𝘤𝘬 on Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s pledge to ensure Jewish safety following yesterday’s deadly assault at a Manchester synagogue.
Speaking on GB News, Matt branded the Prime Minister’s commitment “absolutely outrageous” in light of recent Government policies.

Matt lashed out at the Prime Minister

The criticism came after two local residents lost their lives in the 𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘢𝘤𝘬 outside the synagogue.

The pollster argued that the Prime Minister’s assurances rang hollow given what he described as the government’s track record on issues affecting Jewish communities.

“If I was a member of Britain’s Jewish community, I would be scared, frightened, outraged,” Matt stated during the show, suggesting that the government’s actions contradicted its promises of protection.

Matt outlined several Government actions that he claimed undermined Jewish security. He accused the Labour administration of “rewarding and incentivising violent, extremist Islamism” through its decision to recognise Palestinian statehood.

The commentator also criticised what he characterised as the government’s tolerance of “months and months of anti-Semitic protests on the streets of our capital.” He further condemned immigration policies, describing them as “mass, open borders” that permitted entry to individuals whose backgrounds and beliefs remained unknown.

“We don’t know where they are from or what they believe and we are putting them into the heart of our communities,” Matt said.

He added that the Government lacked any coherent approach to integrating new arrivals whilst overseeing continued large-scale immigration.

The Manchester synagogue 𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘢𝘤𝘬 claimed the lives of Adrian Daulby and Melvin Cravitz, both residents of the local area. Police identified the assailant as 35-year-old Jihad Al-Shamie, who was shot dead by officers at the scene.

In a tragic development, authorities revealed that one of the victims died from police gunfire during the confrontation with the 𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘢𝘤𝘬er. The incident has sent shockwaves through the Jewish community, already grappling with heightened security concerns.

The assault prompted an immediate response from the Prime Minister, who cut short his attendance at a European summit in Copenhagen to return to Britain. Sir Keir characterised the perpetrator as a “vile individual” driven by antisemitic hatred, targeting victims solely “because they are Jews.”

The Prime Minister addressed the nation with a personal message to Jewish citizens, acknowledging their fears in the wake of the 𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘢𝘤𝘬. “I know how much fear you will be holding inside of you. I really do,” he said, expressing both solidarity and regret that such anxieties persist in modern Britain.

Sir Keir, whose wife is Jewish, pledged comprehensive action to combat antisemitism. “I promise you that I will do everything in my power to guarantee you the security that you deserve,” he declared.

The Government announced immediate measures including enhanced police presence at synagogues across the country.

The Prime Minister emphasised his commitment to reassuring Jewish communities and defeating antisemitism, describing it as a national priority following the Manchester tragedy.

Matt directed particular criticism at Sir Keir’s political history, highlighting his tenure during Jeremy Corbyn’s Labour leadership.

The commentator accused the Prime Minister of having “basically helped to mainstream anti-Semitism in the main opposition party” during that period.

This charge relates to Starmer’s service as Shadow Brexit Secretary under Mr Corbyn, whose leadership faced investigation by the UK’s equalities watchdog for discrimination and harassment of Jews within Labour ranks.

Sir Keir assumed party leadership in 2020 and subsequently addressed these antisemitism allegations.

“We have let British Jews down,” Matt declared, asserting that this failure was apparent to all “except David Lammy, except Keir Starmer, except people on the Left.”

He concluded by accusing these political figures of being “the first people to draw these lines between rhetoric, tone and action.”
