Prince Archie celebrated his sixth birthday this week – however, we haven’t had that many glimpses of the young royal so far.

Meghan Markle celebrates son Archie’s birthday
On Tuesday (May 6), Meghan paid tribute to her son Archie to mark his birthday. She shared a beautiful sunset photo of Archie, facing away from the camera.
It showed the little boy looking out at the sunset from a balcony. He seemed to be wearing striped pyjamas.
Meghan wrote: “Our son. Our sun. Happy 6th birthday to Archie!
“Thank you for all of the love, prayers, and warm wishes for our sweet boy. He’s six! Where did the time go?
“(And for all of you who came to celebrate with us at his party last weekend, thank you for making his birthday so incredibly special).”

When and where was Prince Archie born?
On May 6, 2019, Prince Archie was born at Portland Hospital in London.
However, Prince Harry and Meghan didn’t introduce the tot to the world until two days later, in a skirting of royal tradition.
They introduced the young prince to the public during an appearance at Windsor Castle on May 8. They posed for photos as Harry cradled his son and Meghan gushed over how “happy” she was.
“It’s magic, it’s pretty amazing. I have the two best guys in the world so I’m really happy,” she said at the time.
Archie could be seen snoozing in his father’s arms, wrapped in a white blanket and wearing a little white hat on his head.
The late Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip, and Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, were also in attendance to pose for pictures with the young royal.

Four months later, Prince Archie was seen again during Harry and Meghan’s royal trip to South Africa.
During their time there, they met with Archbishop Desmond Tutu, whom they introduced to the young prince.
Pictures of Archie at the time show him sitting on his mother’s knee, wearing stripey blue and white dungarees.
Later that year, Archie featured in the Sussexes’ 2019 Christmas card. The young royal could be seen crawling right down the lens of the camera. Meanwhile, mum and dad could be seen laughing in the background by the Christmas tree.

When Prince Harry and Meghan moved to the US in 2020, they ensured that Archie – and later, their daughter Princess Lilibet‘s – privacy became paramount.
In 2020, they released another Christmas card featuring Archie. However, this one was a drawing, depicting the young royal, his mum and dad playing in a Wendy House, whilst their dogs relaxed nearby.
Royal fans didn’t get another glimpse of Prince Archie until December 2021, when Prince Harry and Meghan released a Christmas card again. The card showed a laughing Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet with their parents outside their home in Montecito.

The following year saw Prince Archie feature at various points in his parents’ Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan.
Several pictures of Prince Archie during his young life in the US were featured in the six-part doc, including one of Archie’s first birthday, which was celebrated with his grandmother, Doria.

Recent Instagram appearances
Over the past few months, royal fans have got more glimpses of Prince Archie, thanks to Meghan’s Instagram posts.
The duchess has uploaded a number of pictures and videos of Archie recently.
The duchess uploaded one video of Prince Archie and herself baking. She also uploaded a video of the young royal picking flowers with her and Princess Lilibet.
In another, which was a promotional picture for her brand, As Ever, Archie can be seen giving his mum a hug, as she carries Lilibet on her hip.
Prince Archie’s red hair in display in Instagram photos
Fans have been delighted to see Prince Archie in the photos, with many loving the fact that he’s inherited his father’s ginger hair.
In late April, Meghan posted photos of Archie and Lilibet without their faces showing. But their red hair was on full display, leaving fans gushing.
Then, a couple of days ago, Meghan uploaded a snap of Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet walking with Prince Harry in the garden.
Prince Archie can be seen holding his father’s hand, whilst Lilibet sits on his shoulders.
