THE CHASE CHAOS: Show Interrupted as Player Makes Emotional Plea to Bradley Walsh

The Chase

The Chase was interrupted by one player who had an important question for Bradley Walsh. Wednesday’s (November 5) edition of the popular quiz show featured four new contestants, who were pitted against Darragh Ennis. First up to face The Menace was Sumitra, who nailed three questions in the cash builder. Her strong start gave the team the boost they needed and secured her the first spot in the final chase.

Next up was Sonny, a 19-year-old media production student. Before diving into the game, he had a brief chat with Bradley Walsh, sharing his passion for music production, which he pursues alongside his studies, as well as his love of singing. Asked which is his favourite song to perform, Sonny admitted it is Fly Me to the Moon by Count Basie and Frank Sinatra.

“That’s an interesting thing, that you like that sort of great American songbook type stuff,” Bradley said.

Sonny explained that his “diverse taste” in music comes from his parents and grandparents.

At that moment, he paused the game to ask Bradley to send a hello to his grandma, Betty, who he described as the presenter’s “biggest fan.”

Sonny quipped: “On the topic of family, I’ve got a question for you. Can you say hello to my great-grandma? She’s your biggest fan. She’s 101. She lives in Wythenshawe in Manchester and she’ll be watching the show.”

Bradley happily obliged, turning to the camera to say, “Betty, hello darling. I wish you all the very best over there Wythenshawe and I wish you lots of love.

“I hope you enjoy the show. Whatever you do for your next birthday, 102nd birthday, Betty, don’t let anyone give you the bumps. It will take too long.”

Sonny had high hopes going into his cash builder, revealing his dream of buying a property in Barcelona. Unfortunately, luck wasn’t on his side, and he was caught by the chaser.

The same thing happened with Tom, and Laura, who also failed to outrun Darragh. This left Sumitra on her own in the final chase. Despite playing solo, the 61-year-old ended on a respectable score of 13.

She was praised by both Bradley and Darragh for her performance. Sadly, it wasn’t enough and she was caught with 37 left on the clock.
