The NFL announced its referee assignments for next weekend’s Divisional Round of the playoffs, and the Kansas City Chiefs are feeling quite good as they head into their matchup against the Houston Texans.

Clay Martin will ref the matchup between the Chiefs and Houston Texans on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. ET on ESPN and ABC.

Clay Martin, who has been with the NFL since 2015 and a referee since 2018, has quite the track record.

Kansas City is a perfect 6-0 in the Patrick Mahomes era, and Martin’s refereeing gives the Chiefs an extra advantage in a contest where they are already huge favorites.

Barring a major surprise, many are expecting the Kansas City Chiefs to move to 7-0 with Martin and host another AFC Championship by this time next week.

Fans on social media are already calling the game “rigged.”

“Holding. Texans defense. 75 yard penalty, chiefs get 6 downs to try,” another joked.

Someone even accused the NFL of “sending in their best refs to save the chiefs.”

The winner of the Chiefs-Texans will face the winner of the Bills-Ravens game and those two teams will fight for the right to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl.

As for the other games, Ron Torbert will be on assignment for the Washington Commanders at Detroit Lions.

Shawn Smith will officiate the matchup between either the Los Angeles Rams or Minnesota Vikings against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Carl Cheffers will referee the marquee matchup of the Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens.

The Kansas City Chiefs Begin Their Quest To Make History

In their 11 seasons under Andy Reid, the Chiefs have nine consecutive playoff seasons and eight consecutive division titles.

Chiefs are chasing the first-ever 3-peat in NFL history.

The first step in that process is getting past the Houston Texans.

Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson has emerged as one of the most prominent figures in women’s basketball. Her outstanding achievements and dominant performances on the court have boosted her confidence in her skills. However, this confidence has recently caused her some trouble, as NBA fans criticized her for a recent statement she made.

In a recent episode of the “Roommates” show, Wilson stunned both the NBA and WNBA by claiming that she could defeat New York Knicks star Josh Hart in a one-on-one matchup. Additionally, she predicted that the final score would be 11-8.

“Score would be 11-8, me. I’m not saying you gonna go scoreless, 8 to 11 is pretty solid. So, what do you think it’ll be, Josh?” Wilson said.

Although Josh and Wilson both had a good laugh during their conversation, Wilson’s comment stirred up the basketball community. “She’d lose 11-0 w him only playing w his offhand,” one fan said.
