Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment, and David Stapf, president of CBS Studios, released a joint statement to Deadline.
“The Talk broke new ground when it launched 14 years ago by returning daytime talk to CBS with a refreshing and award-winning format,” it read.
“Throughout the years, it has been a key program on CBS’ top rated daytime line-up as it brought timely, important and entertaining topics and discussions into living rooms around the globe.”
“It goes without saying that hosting and producing a year-round talk show is no easy task, and we express our sincere gratitude to our amazing hosts Akbar Gbajabiamila, Amanda Kloots, Natalie Morales, Jerry O’Connell and Sheryl Underwood, our Executive Producer/Showrunner Rob Crabbe and the hardworking producing team and crew,” the statement went on.
“We also want to acknowledge our former show hosts and colleagues who contributed throughout the seasons.”
“We truly appreciate the skill, creativity, and dedication everyone involved brought to the show every day,” it continued.
“And of course, we thank the numerous guests who appeared, and the millions of viewers who tuned in daily.”
“For the final season, we plan to celebrate the show and give it the proper sendoff it deserves when it concludes in December 2024,” the text concluded.
The CBS program has been on the air since 2020.
The network has yet to fill in its daytime timeslot after December.

An announcement was also made on the show’s Instagram account.
“The Talk will return in the fall to celebrate its 15th and final season,” the caption stated.
In 2010, The Talk, which is the lowest-rated CBS show on daytime, replaced As The World Turns to its daytime lineup.
The beloved soap opera was canceled after 54 seasons.

In mid-March, CBS unveiled plans to add an all-Black soap opera called The Gates to their daytime TV lineup, according to the same outlet.
Viewers assumed The Talk – which had not been canceled at the time – would be replaced by The Gates on the schedule lineup.
Fans speculated the announcement of The Gates meant the karmic comeuppance for the daytime talk show.
“Sorry for those who work on it but I feel like if The Gates gets picked up to series and The Talk gets canceled, I feel like it would be karma because soaps shouldn’t have been canceled for talk shows,” one viewer theorized.
“A soap getting The Talk canceled would be poetic justice,” another viewer boasted.
“Sure does. How fitting for a show that killed As the World Turns to be done in by a new soap opera, and a black one at that,” a third viewer commented.
SNUBBED
In January, The Talk sparked cancellation rumors when it was snubbed from the People’s Choice Awards.
The list of nominees for Daytime Talk Show of the Year included Sherri, The Drew Barrymore Show, The Jennifer Hudson Show, and The Kelly Clarkson Show.
In mid-February, the Kelly Clarkson show beat out the rest and took the win.
