This week on Emmerdale, tensions reached a boiling point as Billy Fletcher shocked viewers by demanding full custody of the children he shares with Dawn, sending emotional ripples through the fanbase. The once-solid couple recently called it quits after Dawn began a secret affair with none other than Joe Tate — a betrayal that cut deep and completely shattered Billy’s trust. While their initial breakup appeared relatively civil, things took a darker turn once Billy uncovered the full extent of Dawn’s deception. Feeling hurt and blindsided, he quickly shifted from heartbreak to anger, and has since taken aggressive legal steps to ensure he gains full parental rights. Fans of the show have been quick to react, with many passionately taking sides in the escalating custody battle. Some are rallying behind Billy, believing he’s acting out of a desire to protect his children, while others feel sympathy for Dawn and question whether Billy’s motivations are more about revenge than responsibility. As the storyline unfolds, the emotional stakes continue to rise, leaving viewers divided and eager to see who will come out on top.

He then issued Dawn with an ultimatum and Emmerdale fans are here for it.

Billy demands custody in Emmerdale
Last week, Joe Tate was pushed from a window and left for dead on the ground at Home Farm. Billy was arrested for the crime, but estranged wife Dawn gave him an alibi.
Billy soon discovered that Dawn had been the one to push Joe. The pair soon came up with a plan to keep the heat off Dawn, deciding it would be Joe’s word against theirs.
Billy suggested he move back into Home Farm and that they should pretend to be back together in order to make their story more solid.
All seemed to be going well until Billy overheard a conversation between Dawn and Kim in which Dawn admitted to still wanting Joe. Realising the depths of Dawn’s feelings, Billy lost it.
He questioned how Dawn could want to live with someone who had threatened their daughter and then he informed her he would be seeking full custody of their three children – Clemmie, Lucas and Evan.
Billy threatened to tell the police about Dawn pushing Joe unless she agreed. “If you don’t want to go to prison… I want full custody of our kids,” he demanded, adding that he didn’t want them staying at Home Farm “in this toxic environment”.
Dawn of course put up a fight, but Billy told her that if Joe doesn’t throw her to the wolves when he wakes up, then he will.

A third viewer said: “Billy. Joe was disgusting to her child so I would never stay in love with someone after that.”
A fourth fan wrote: “Billy all day long, he’ll be better off without Dawn,” with a fifth fan writing: “Definitely Billy. Dawn made her bed, she knew what she was doing.”
Another fan added: “Am on Billy’s side all the way, hope he gets the kids from Dawn and leave her and Joe to it.”
