Ant and Dec have announced a huge change on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! for the first time in the ITV show’s history.
This year’s series is well underway, with the likes of Emmerdale’s Lisa Riley, Loose Women star Kelly Brook, former EastEnders actress Shona McGarty, Martin Kemp, Eddie Kadi and Jack Osbourne taking on the brutal bushtucker trials.
They’ve been joined by Alex Scott, Ruby Wax, Aitch, Angryginge and newcomers Vogue Williams and Tom Read Wilson.
This year already had a major change in store, after it was revealed the campmates can’t be voted in to do continuous Bushtucker trials, and are immune from the next viewer vote after doing two in a row.
Ant and Dec have now confirmed another major shake-up, as they headed into camp at the end of tonight’s show to announce a new format.

Rivals will see the stars go head-to-head in a series of one-on-one trials and challenges.
Dec explained: “Ultimately these contests will decide who is up for the first vote off.”
Ant added: “And you get to decide who those pairs are,” as he explained how the camp has been split into two groups, with one from each half now set to compete against the other.
He went on: “You need to choose somebody from group one to go head-to-head with somebody from group two, and you can do all of this via the I’m A Celebrity app.”
Viewers have predicted the rivalries will spark “TV gold”, as they urge for close friends Aitch and Angry Ginge to be set up against each other.

“Ginge and Aitch head to head please can we make this happen their competitiveness will be cinema,” one wrote.
Another said: “If Aitch and Ginge go head to head in next trial it will be TV gold please.” “Oooo the vote for the group stuff seems pretty cool,” another added.
As one shared a screenshot of their vote, pitting Ginge against Aitch, they said: “Every single person watching TV is doing this right now.”
“Everyone did Aitch vs Ginge,” another wrote, while someone else said: “NOO you can’t separate Aitch and Ginge.” “If Aitch and Ginge aren’t together it is rigged!” one fan added.
“Aitch vs Ginge would be HILARIOUS,” another said. Someone else added: “Voting Aitch & Ginge to go head to head, cos that duo is the best tv we’ve see in years.”

This series is said to be one of the “toughest” yet (Image: ITV/Shutterstock)
This comes after I’m A Celebrity bosses insisted this will be the “toughest” year yet, with executive producer Olly Nash telling The Daily Mail: “It’s a tough and gruelling show, and there’s nothing wrong with driving that home.
“We need to see more celebrities earning their keep, that’s the most important thing.
“We have more celebrities taking part in the trials than we ever have before, so it’s more of a competition.
“Last year, we had a great positive happy cast that all joined together and had a happy time.
“This year they are going to have to fight more, earn more and play a bigger part in camp.”
I’m A Celebrity continues tomorrow night at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
