The prominent film director and die-hard New York Knicks fan wore a black jacket with huge words that said: “WE WANT OUR 40 ACRES AND A MULE.”

The jacket included “YES REPARATIONS” and “NO SUBTERFUGE” on the bottom.

 

The term is a reference to a promise made to former Black slaves that was revoked after the Civil War and Abraham Lincoln’s assassination, according to NPR.

Union General William Tecumseh Sherman made the promise in 1865, and it was meant to provide the former slaves with land and resources.

Clearly, Spike Lee wants Donald Trump to bring this action back to distribute wealth in the United States better.

While Kendrick Lamar was at the Super Bowl performing some of his major hits, there was one point when he said, : “it’s a cultural divide, I’m a get it on the floor. 40 acres and a mule, this is bigger than the music. They tried to rig the game, but you can’t fake influence.”

Many people were confused by it, but not Spike Lee.

He offered some insight into the historical reference he made.

“I Want To Thank My Brother Kendrick For The 40 Acres And A Mule Shoutout Which Has Been The Name Of My Production Company Since NYU Grad Film School,” Lee wrote alongside a clip of the performance.

“And I Want To Send A Special Shoutout To My Morehouse Brother Samuel Jackson Who Started This Super Bowl Halftime Extravaganza As Uncle Sam And You Might’ve Seen Him As Dolmedes In CHI-RAQ,” he continued, before explaining the term “40 acres and a mule.”

“The Term 40 Acres And A Mule Was A Proposal For Reparations To Former Enslaved African-Americans In The Aftermath Of The Civil War,” Lee wrote. “The Proposal Was Intended To Provide Land And Resources To Provide Land And Resources To Help Free People Achieve Economic Independence. GTA 6 broke the record for the longest wait between a first and second trailer for a Rockstar Games title ever.

Rockstar has built a rich world of criminals, lunatics, and thieves spanning from Liberty City to San Andreas and beyond. With GTA 6 on the horizon, fans have become ecstatic after seeing a picture of Lucia.

For those unaware, she is a female criminal in the game. Grand Theft Auto states that she did her time at a prison complex in the State of Leonida in the mid-2020s for an unknown crime.

As anticipation builds for the release of Grand Theft Auto 6, a picture shows Lucia stripped down to a two-piece bikini.

Despite their hopes for a release this year fading, the community remains engaged in hopes that a second trailer will be released in early 2025 and a release date of the actual game will come out.

Stephen A Smith has revealed what would get him to seriously consider running for President amid rumors of him having a shot at the White House.

While Smith insists he has no interest in becoming a politician, some believe he could actually become president, including Jason Whitlock, who reckons Disney’s setting the ‘First Take’ host for just that.

Smith has gone back and forth on the issue but recently admitted he would run if he thought he had a real shot at winning. He also lashed out at the two-party system, which he believes isn’t fair to Americans because it limits their choices.

“Let me tell you why [I would consider running]. Because I think our system sucks,” he said on the latest episode of his show. “I think the binary system where we have to choose between the Democrats and the Republicans is a joke.

“I think it dissuades the vast majority of American citizens from wanting to be a part of the political process. And I think that something needs to be done about it in order to bring America back to where it should have always been.”

The ‘First Take’ host previously claimed he would beat every candidate if he chose to run, telling the Daily Mail, “Every candidate that they mentioned [on a recent poll], from Kamala Harris right on down to (Pete) Buttigieg and to Tim Walz. I’d beat all of them. I do believe that. I really do.”

 

Two percent of the participants in a recent poll noted they would vote for the ESPN journalist in the next election, which was more than the one percent Beto O’Rourke – who ran for the nomination in 2020 – and Illinois Governor JB Pritzker got.
