REVEALED: The Jaw-Dropping Reason Angel Reese & Sabrina Ionescu Pulled Out of Unrivaled’s 1-on-1 Tournament

The shocking reason why Angel Reese & Sabrina Ionescu pulled out of Unrivaled's 1-on-1 Tournament

Unrivaled’s 1-on-1 tournament is shaping up to be one of the most exciting offseason events in women’s basketball. With a $350,000 prize pool and a fast-paced format designed for intense matchups, the tournament promises to bring out the best in the WNBA’s top talent. But as the competition gears up for its February 10-14 run, two notable stars- Angel Reeseand Sabrina Ionescu-are missing from the lineup.

Their absence isn’t just about skipping another offseason event. This is a chance to go head-to-head with some of the league’s biggest names, settle debates about individual dominance, and walk away with serious cash. So why aren’t they in? The answers, while different for each player, highlight the balancing act WNBA stars face when it comes to rest, recovery, and staying sharp for the regular season.

For Ionescu, the decision is all about timing. The New York Liberty guard is still working her way back from thumb surgery after suffering a UCL tear during the WNBA Finals. While she’s cleared for basketball activities, she’s been vocal about the need to manage her workload. “This is the middle of our offseason, so there is a fine line between understanding you are here to get better and work,” she told ESPN“But for me, I can’t be as intensely locked in as I am in the W. I’d be burned out by the time the W season starts.”

Beyond that, Ionescu has another major commitment on her calendar: the NBA All-Star Weekend in San Francisco from February 13-16. With her hometown hosting one of the biggest basketball events of the year, it’s no surprise she’s prioritizing that over Unrivaled’s 1-on-1 showdown.

Reese’s absence still unclear before tournament starts

Reese’s situation is more of a mystery. The 22-year-old had a solid rookie season and is coming off wrist surgery, which could be a factor in her decision to sit out. While she hasn’t publicly commented on her absence, it wouldn’t be surprising if she’s focusing on her health and development before her sophomore WNBA season.

Meanwhile, the tournament will still be stacked with talent. Reigning MVP Breanna StewartNapheesa Collier, and Kahleah Copper are just a few of the stars set to compete, and the format-where even eliminated players can still root for their teammates to win prize money-adds a unique twist.

Unrivaled co-founder Alex Bazzell has made it clear that the league’s goal is to give WNBA players their best offseason experience yet. With or without Reese and Ionescu, the 1-on-1 tournament is shaping up to be an intense battle of skill, pride, and high stakes.

    Caleb Williams at NFL Draft

Unless this is your first day in America, then you know race relations in this country dominate just everything, and that includes NBA and NFL drafts

During the most recent NFL Draft in Detroit, social media was buzzing as athletes showed up to the red carpet event with their girlfriends and family. Many of the incoming NFL rookies were African-American and were spotted with white women, which has become the usual theme for years.

The same thing happens with the NBA Draft.

This year, the discourse on the NFL Draft and NBA Draft has gotten even louder as African-American women openly pondered why so many of the players never have a partner that is the same race as them.

One guy on TikTok decided to answer that question by revealing that the vast majority of his division-1 friends in college or headed to the league are dating or married to white women and explained why.

He stated that some of them had told him that their white girlfriend looked up to Taylor Swift while their girlfriend looked up to Megan The Stallion. He then states the guy asks how many white women he has seen doing the Megan Thee Stallion challenge as opposed to Black women.

He then dove into another story of a friend who relayed that his Black girlfriend started to request money from him as soon as she found out about his NIL money. She wanted her hair and nails done. He then added that the Black women would be upset if they went to places like Chipotle, and she demanded steak houses.

Terry Bradshaw doesn’t think too well before he blurts out statements while live on television.

The Pro Football Hall of Famer, who turned 76 years of age in September, has been with Fox Sports as an NFL analyst since 1994.

He has been in hot water over things he has said over the past few years, and the situation continued during the final NFL game of the year.

Before the Philadelphia Eagles took on the Kansas City Chiefs in New Orleans, Fox Sports was on the field discussing the game.

Terry Bradshaw talked about a time when he won the Super Bowl, and the fan base still wanted him to do it again next year. His whole point is that fans are never satisfied.

However, the way he described it, saying, “Then you win a Super Bowl, and you go to the parade and here’s what you hear at the parade: ‘Hey Bradshaw, hey boy! You better win this sucker again next year, you hillbilly or we’ll run your ass out of here. So, don’t ever expect to satisfy them.”

Fans were in shock over what Terry Bradshaw said:

“He’s the white Charles Barkley they be saying any and everything on live tv lmfao,’ one fan said.

“Yeah, but that’s exactly how Pittsburgh treated him that’s why he don’t ever really go back,” another fan stated.

“I noticed Bradshaw wasnt on the post game show, he needs to go, and its about 15 years to late to be honest,” another X user commented.

“I think he’s been fighting brain issues caused from a lot of concussions. Sad,” a fourth fan blurted out.

One final fan stated: “Saw this live and laughed my ass off, Micheal strahan could not believe it.”

Terry Bradshaw May Not Be Retiring Anytime Soon

Terry Bradshaw retired from playing football in 1983, but the 76-year-old has been doing media work for quite some time.

The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback who brought them four Super Bowls has made it clear he wants to remain in the sports broadcasting industry.

During an availability at the Super Bowl’s media week events, Bradshaw was asked about his career and his future in the industry.

“I got two years left at Fox,” Bradshaw said. “I’m 76. It’s a young man’s game. I get that…if we can get to the next Super Bowl, I’ll be 80. I think that’s time.”

VIDEO: Travis Kelce Avoided The Most Important Question Reporters Had For Him After Super Bowl 59 Loss—Fans Are Losing Their Minds Over His Reaction

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce was understandably downcast after Sunday night’s Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles and didn’t really feel like talking on the back of it.

The Eagles easily contained the TE and the rest of the Chiefs’ offense, running out to a 40-22 win and snagging their second Super Bowl in franchise history.

Kelce, who managed just four receptions for 39 yards in the contest, could decide to call curtains on his career after the failed three-peat chase. After all, he would still be leaving as a three-time champion and arguably the best tight end in NFL history.

Still, he still has a year left on his contract with the Chiefs and could opt to go out on a better note after last night’s crushing loss.

Travis Kelce Refused To Answer Any Questions On His Future

In any case, Kelce didn’t give anything away with regards to his future while speaking to reporters after the game. He refused to answer a question about his plans, cutting his interview short and taking off while a journalist was trying to get a question in.

“Have a good one, guys,” he said before turning around and leaving.

Whatever Kelce decides to do remains to be seen. But, as noted above, he has had an incredible career and will be remembered as one of the best should he choose to hang his cleats up this year.

The UFC has plenty of “what if” fights—rematches like Conor McGregor vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov or dream matchups like Brock Lesnar vs. Jon Jones. These bouts never happened, leaving fans wondering what could have been. One of the biggest debates remains Khabib vs. Tony Ferguson. Some believe prime Ferguson could have handed Khabib his first loss, while others see a different outcome. Meanwhile, Ali Abdelaziz is certain—if they had fought, Khabib would have cut years off Ferguson’s career.

Abdelaziz believes that if Khabib Nurmagomedov had fought Tony Ferguson, it would have taken years off Ferguson’s career—just like Khabib did to Conor McGregor. The long-hyped matchup never happened, but Abdelaziz is convinced Khabib’s dominance would have left Ferguson in a bad spot. Given how McGregor struggled after facing Khabib, he sees a similar fate for Ferguson.

A fight between Khabib and Ferguson would have been fascinating in their primes. They were booked multiple times, but each matchup fell through due to various issues, leaving fans wondering what could have been. While fans can only speculate, Abdelaziz remains firm that Khabib would have ended Ferguson’s prime with absolute dominance.

Tony Ferguson Predicts He Would Have Handed Khabib Nurmagomedov His First Defeat

Recently, Ferguson has taken shots at Khabib, claiming he saw fear in his eyes and suggesting their fight would have ended the undefeated streak. He shared a clip from their UFC 209 face-off, recalling how Khabib withdrew due to weight issues. Fans felt disappointed, but Ferguson still insists he would have handed Khabib his first loss, even joking about bad tiramisu or fear.

After which, Khabib reflected on the long-lost Ferguson fight, brushing off the idea that Tony had a real shot. He believed only a lucky punch—like the ones people hoped for against Conor, Poirier, and Gaethje—could have changed the outcome. With Ferguson’s wild style and Khabib’s dominant wrestling, it’s a what-if fight that fans will always debate.

Conor McGregor is all over the internet and on the NBA court, too. The Irishman made quite an unexpected splash at Monday night’s NBA game between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Utah Jazz. The former UFC champion made a surprise appearance in Salt Lake City to size up with Brook Lopez.

As the clock wound down in the second quarter, McGregor was spotted making his way past the Bucks’ bench at the Delta Center. In a surprising twist, he turned around and approached Bucks center Brook Lopez, leading to a light-hearted and humorous exchange that resembled a pre-fight weigh-in.

Standing at a towering 7’1”, Lopez towered over the 5’8” McGregor, making the size difference so pronounced that it became the highlight of the encounter. And both of them broke into laughter before McGregor headed to his seat on the sideline.

He also chatted live with Fan Duel Sports Network reporter Melanie Ricks during the game. And Conor engaged viewers with his trademark charisma. The conversation touched on the connection between combat sports and basketball, highlighting Bucks point guard Damian Lillard’s passion for boxing. Despite not having fought officially since 2021, McGregor continues to command attention with his larger-than-life personality. Throughout the evening, he was seen mingling with fans and posing for selfies.

Brook Lopez Shared Conversation With Conor McGregor On Their Meet-up

After the game, Lopez shared the details of this quirky moment, revealing that McGregor had asked him about his height. Lopez humorously obliged by standing up, fully aware that it was his duty to play along with the antics. He was familiar with the theatrical nature of fight face-offs. McGregor’s reputation in the octagon might intimidate many, but Lopez, despite having no formal fight experience, was quick to

He jokingly suggested that if anything were to escalate, he’d bring in NBA star Damian Lillard as his fight promoter and trainer.

“He [McGregor] asked me how tall I was. I let him know. He asked me to stand up and I did. And I knew at that point once I got up, I had to size him up. I had to do a little something. I’ve seen the face-offs before, so I knew I had to do my part,” Lopez said after the game.

Ultimately, the interaction was a light-hearted diversion from the basketball action. Lopez had a solid game, contributing 10 points, six rebounds, and three blocks in the Bucks’ victory over the Jazz. While McGregor is a notorious figure in the world of combat sports, this sideline moment soon became a viral sensation on the internet.

Former NFL star Brett Favre had a lot to say after President Donald Trump signed an executive order to ban transgender athletes from competing in women’s sports.

The order provides guidance, regulations, and legal interpretations, and it will require the Department of Education to investigate non-compliant high schools.

An administration official said that the executive order would reverse the position of the Biden administration that stated LGBT students would be protected by federal law.

This came as great news to Brett Favre.

The Hall of Fame quarterback praised President Donald Trump on Thursday after he signed the “Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports” order on Wednesday.

“I appreciate President @realDonaldTrump signing an initiative to keep biological boys from competing against females,” Favre said in a post on X.

“It’s sad that this had to happen in this day and age, but glad it was done.”

The President is not done with this fight.

Trump further stated Wednesday during a signing ceremony for an executive order aimed at banning transgender athletes from women’s sports that his administration wants the IOC to “change everything having to do with the Olympics and having to do with this absolutely ridiculous subject” ahead of the 2028 Summer Games in Los Angeles.

Brett Favre Spoke At Donald Trump’s Rally

Brett Favre has long been a supporter of Donald Trump.

He made that clear when he joined him in Green Bay last year to encourage voters, especially Packers fans, to vote Trump on Election Day.

Wisconsin is a critical battleground state that Trump narrowly won in 2016 but then narrowly lost in 2020.

“Much like the Packer organization, Donald Trump and his organization is a winner, and the United States of America won with his leadership,” Brett Favre said at the time.

Everything worked out in the end, as Trump won Wisconsin and received 10 electoral votes.

She wanted her hair and nails done. He then added that the Black women would be upset if they went to places like Chipotle, and she demanded steak houses.

Stephen A. Smith sure knows how to kick off awkward moments on air.

He had one this week with Molly Qerim when he couldn’t stop saying “vibrating” on air.

Stephen A Smith praises Molly Qerim's outfit choice after comparing First Take host to 'black widow' in bizarre comment | The US Sun

The ESPN veteran made a number of comments about host Molly Qerim’s “vibrating” cell phone during Thursday’s show. Stephen A. has discussed Qerim’s phone going off randomly while on air in previous episodes of First Take, but this day, he had to speak up on it.

Qerim hit back that the phone was “not ringing” but was set to silent and on vibrate.

Stephen A. said: “I tried to say ringing but do you want me to say vibrating on air?

“You always like me mentioning vibrating on air when your phone [goes off]. You really want me to do that?”

Orlovsky did not want his face shown as he picked up a Philadelphia Phillies flag that was lying on the First Take table and draped it over his head.

Molly tried to stutter out a reply but Stephen A. just wouldn’t stop: “Just go with the ring, Molly! Just go with the ring.”

Qerim said, “I distance myself from these comments.”

Smith fired back, “I’m trying to avoid the vibrating!”

Orlovsky finally chimed in to say, “I’m trying to avoid getting fired.”

Like many mentioned in the comment section, the HR department just may have to get involved so conversations like this will not happen again on air.

Former NFL star quarterback Brett Favre has taken a swipe at pop sensation Taylor Swift for political reasons ahead of the upcoming 2024 presidential elections.

The 11-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro is known to be a supporter of former President Donald Trump and has previously endorsed him.

He’s since taken a shot at Swift, who recently endorsed Democratic candidate and Vice President Kamala Harris following Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes informing everyone that he wouldn’t endorse a candidate.

“Good take by Mahomes,” he wrote in a tweet.

“I see a lot of celebs trying to influence their audience instead of letting the people think for themselves. If the best choice for them ain’t clear and they’re easily swayed by their fav pop artist, it’s not going to be a good thing.”

LiAngelo Ball has been accused of walking out on his family by the mother of his children, Nikki Mudarris, who has also claimed the latest hip-hop sensation got another woman pregnant.

The Ball brother recently went viral after releasing a rap track called “Tweaker” following his disappointing basketball career, finding a new lane to get himself paid as he’s since landed a multi-million dollar record deal with Def Jam.

According to an Instagram message sent to The Shade Room, Nikki claimed to have been blindsided Gelo, who she says told her out of the blue that his new girlfriend is pregnant and that they’re starting a life together.

Their youngest child was born in December…

“We were just happy and planning family photos. I am beyond blind-sighted by this whole thing. The ultimate betrayal is not even the word. My daughter is not even two months old, and dealing with this and postpartum is very hard,” she wrote.

Nikki, who had a three-and-a-half-year relationship with Ball, asked for prayers and healing.

“I have to be strong for my kids, but I have absolutely no words. Karma is real and God don’t like ugly. I hope it was worth losing his family,” she added.

She also revealed that the rapper moved out of their home last week and hasn’t contacted his kids since.

LiAngelo Ball’s Supposed New GF Responds

Rashida Nicole, the woman LiAngelo is accused of impregnating, has since taken to Instagram to hit back at Nikki. “Loud & Wrong,” she wrote on her story, adding, “But I ain’t clearing nothing.

She did clear it a few hours later by posting a video in which she fired back at people trying to “s**t shame” her with claims that they don’t know the real story, adding that LiAngelo did not abandon his children.

“I’m tired of people playing victim on the internet. One, people move on, things change. Yes, it might not be updated or addressed to the internet because it’s not for y’all. People have private lives,” she said. “Half the time, that lady don’t even got those kids. Let’s be clear there is no abandonment over here.”

Nikki commented on the post above with the following:

“Karma is a b***h. Who thinks they winning doing this to someone who just has a baby not even 2 months old. I never addressed YOU. I addressed my baby father. PPD is real and I pray to heal from this. My kids and I deserve better ❤️ trying to assassinate my character when I’m the victim is absolutely insane.”

She then responded with the following on her own story.

“The only person who not with them is they daddy. B***h u wanted attention, u got it. You can keep him.”

This is becoming quite the saga.

VIDEO: Some Dude Just Dropped The Cold Hard Truth On Why All Of These NFL Prospects Are “Dating White Women”
