Unforgettable Twist This Chicago Fire D3ath Still Has Fans Talking And It Completely Changed The Show Forever

Over the years, Chicago Fire has delivered intense drama, emotional storylines, and heartbreaking losses that have left a lasting impact on fans.

The long-running NBC series, which first aired in 2012, follows the courageous firefighters and paramedics of Firehouse 51 as they navigate the dangers of

their job while dealing with personal struggles. While many of the show’s original cast members, including Taylor Kinney, Jesse Spencer, and Eamonn Walker,

have remained staples of the series, Chicago Fire has also seen its fair share of departures. Some characters have moved on to new opportunities, while others have met tragic ends.

Among all the exits, there is one loss that stands out as the most devastating in the show’s history—the heartbreaking d3ath of Brian “Otis” Zvonecek.

    Otis’ D3ath Still Haunts Fans

Chicago Fire has never shied away from showing the dangers firefighters face daily. The show makes it clear that every time a firefighter runs into a burning building, they risk their lives. Over the years, several characters have made the ultimate sacrifice, leaving behind emotional scars for both their colleagues and viewers. However, no loss has been as painful as the d3ath of Otis in Season 8.

Otis, played by Yuri Sardarov, had been part of the series since its premiere and quickly became a fan favorite. His lighthearted personality and strong friendships with the rest of Firehouse 51 made him an irreplaceable character. That’s why his unexpected d3ath in the Season 8 premiere hit fans so hard. He succumbed to severe injuries sustained during a fire at a mattress factory, and his final moments left a lasting impact on both the characters and the audience.

On a Chicago Fire Reddit thread, many fans expressed how Otis’ d3ath was the most gut-wrenching moment in the series. Some even admitted that they couldn’t continue watching after his departure, calling it the “final straw.” His d3ath not only shocked viewers but also changed the tone of the show, serving as a grim reminder of the real-life dangers firefighters face.

    A Lasting Tribute to Otis

Otis’ farewell was made even more emotional by the tribute that followed. In his honor, a memorial was built in front of Firehouse 51, ensuring that his bravery and sacrifice would never be forgotten. The moment when his colleagues gathered around the memorial and took a knee remains one of the most powerful and emotional scenes in Chicago Fire history.

Even years after his passing, Otis’ legacy lives on in the hearts of Chicago Fire fans. His tragic d3ath not only changed the course of the show but also reinforced the emotional depth that makes the series so compelling. While Firehouse 51 has continued to move forward, the absence of Otis is still deeply felt, proving just how much of an impact he had on both the characters and the audience.

Discussing her recent surgery, she added: ‘I feel very grateful to have completely recovered.

‘I feel really good. I have a lot of people reaching out who have had the same thing.’

Davina McCall, 56, announced in November she’d been diagnosed with a colloid cyst, a rare type of benign brain tumour, and has supported Fearne.

She continued: ‘Everyone needs a Davina. She’s been amazing, weird that we had the same health thing going on at the same time. She’s so calming and we speak every day. She is just the best

It comes after Fearne has seemingly made another thinly-veiled dig at her ex-husband as she gushed that she is the happiest she’s ever been in a positive update.

Speaking to Scott Mills on his BBC Radio 2 breakfast show, Fearne gushed that she is ‘really happy’ and is ‘springing out of bed in the morning ready for life’.

Scott, who has known Fearne for 25 years, said he has never seen her ‘more positive or happier’, prompting Fearne to agree and reply: ‘Yeah I feel great!’

She told how her health scare has changed her outlook and said she has been seeking comfort from Davina.

‘I’m really happy and I think when you’ve had a health thing like that it does just give you this baseline gratitude where you just feel, you know I have talked to Davina a hell of a lot as our operations were within a month of each other which so weird,’ she continued.

‘We’ve had so many brilliant chats about yeah just feeling very grateful for the basics and sort of springing out of bed in the morning ready for life so yeah I’m feeling good I’ve got lots of exciting stuff happening this year so I’m ready for it!’

Reflecting on her health scare, Fearne said she is ‘massively grateful’ because she didn’t think the lump was anything to worry about, before learning it was a tumour.

‘I went for an ultrasound and it ended up being a tumour, which was obviously a big surprise,’ she explained.

‘Now I feel absolutely great I’m really grateful and you know go and get those lumps and bumps checked out if you’ve got them it’s really really important.

‘I really thought this is going to be a non-event and it ended up being you know major surgery, but I’m healthy and feeling great and just massively grateful.’

Fearne had the benign tumour removed just days before her split from her husband Jesse – who she shares her son Rex and daughter Honey with – emerged.

‘It is with a heavy heart that I let you all know that Jesse and I are ending our marriage,’ the radio host said in an online post at the time, saying their priority would ‘always be’ their children.

Fearne is also stepmother to Jesse’s children Arthur, 21, and Lola, 18, from his first marriage to Tilly Wood.

Jesse, 48, has since moved on his former actress and model, Gemma Gregory, 39, who now works in the wellness business and hosts the Happy Place podcast.

Meanwhile, Fearne is said to have been secretly dating TV director Elliot Hegarty since January.

Their romance emerged when they were seen passionately kissing on a night out in Soho before they walked hand-in-hand while accompanied by friends.

The single mother, 51, was said to be ‘totally shocked and devastated because she only knew that Elliot and Fearne were friends’ and a friend told the Mail: ‘It was an awful way for her to find out and it has been quite ghastly for her.’

Fearne recently spoke about wanting to have a ‘burst of fun’ and ‘go and get p***ed’ following the end of her marriage.

Speaking to Women’s Health UK, Fearne made a swipe at her ex-husband as she told how she has ‘missed out on having fun’.

She shared: ‘I’ve dedicated the past 12 years to being a mum and building Happy Place [the award-winning podcast and wellness festival Fearne launched in 2018] I still want to do all of that, but I’ve been missing out on just having fun.

‘Now I’m in my forties, I want more fun; to see mates, have lunches at my house and cook for everyone, go on little nights out and dinners and not care so much about getting back late.’

The couple had reportedly faced challenges for several years, with Fearne previously admitting that their marriage had been ‘suffering’ as far back as 2019.

Speaking at the time, Fearne said Jesse’s demanding schedule with his band Reef had put a strain on their relationship which left them desperately ‘clinging onto their marriage’ in an unearthed interview.

Fearne and Jesse tied the knot in July 2014 three years after they started dating. They met while partying in Ibiza the year after his split from his first wife Tilly.

SHOCKER: Chicago Fire Star Miranda Rae Mayo’s Private Life Off Camera Leaves Fans Stunned And Asking Questions

Miranda Rae Mayo has earned a special place in the hearts of “Chicago Fire” fans ever since she joined the cast in 2016. Her portrayal of Stella Kidd,

one-half of the fan-favorite ‘Stellaride’ couple, has made her a central figure in the series. However, while Stella is often involved in high-stakes situations

at Firehouse 51, Miranda’s real life is much more grounded and serene, revolving around her family, friends, and community.

Chicago Fire star Miranda Rae Mayo's life away from the cameras | HELLO!

The Spark of Passion for Acting

Miranda’s journey into acting began in her school days. In an interview with Tell Tale TV, she recalled how a school production of The Wizard of Oz sparked her love for the craft: “I got cast as the Wicked Witch of the West in my sixth-grade play, and it was pretty much a wrap after that.” That early experience set the stage for her career, and after high school, Miranda moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting. She dabbled in modeling before making her television debut in 2011. Her career took off, and before landing her iconic role on Chicago Fire, Miranda appeared in shows such as Days of Our Lives (2013-2015), Pretty Little Liars (2015), and Blood & Oil (2015).

    A Life in Chicago

Living in Chicago for her role on Chicago Fire, Miranda has come to love the city. She enjoys staying fit and frequently visits local spots like On Your Mark Fitness, where she trains with owner Emily Hutchins. Another favorite of hers is Infiniteus, a juice and crystal shop on North Avenue. Miranda also values self-care and works with The Holistic Life Foundation, an organization dedicated to teaching mindfulness and yoga in underserved communities.

When it comes to her personal time, Miranda prioritizes wellness, often indulging in yoga, music, and spending time with her extensive family, which includes her biological relatives, friends, and her Chicago Fire castmates. “I have a ton of family. My blood family, my chosen family, my LA family, my Chicago Fire family, my spiritual family,” she said in an interview.

Mental Health and Stella Kidd’s Influence

Miranda is open about her mental health journey, and she credits her portrayal of Stella for helping her explore different facets of herself. She shared that playing Stella has allowed her to take on roles that challenge her mentally and emotionally. “Stella has been an incredible vehicle for me to explore many different sides of myself,” she explained. “Being able to do that in a community with the cast I work with has affected my mental health tremendously.” She also mentioned how she enjoys seeing Stella’s courageous actions, not only in her career but also in her relationships, as an inspiring element of her character.

    A Private Love Life

While Miranda’s chemistry with co-star Taylor Kinney, who plays Kelly Severide, is undeniable on-screen, their relationship remains professional. Miranda keeps her personal life out of the public eye. She was once romantically linked to actor Luke Baines after their collaboration on the film The Girl in the Photographs and their appearance together at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2015. However, it appears that Miranda is currently single, focusing on her career and personal growth.

Tom Cruise’s 82 Percent Rated Hidden Gem On Prime Video Has One Unscripted Scene So Powerful It Left Viewers Absolutely Shook

    Tom Cruise, Prime Video

Tom Cruise may be the face of the blockbuster action roles in Hollywood, but one of his most powerful performances is tucked away in a movie many have forgotten or never seen. There are certain movies and performances that feel like someone cracked open their chest and showed you something real. This Tom Cruise movie is one of them.

Paul Thomas Anderson’s emotional ensemble drama has become a hidden gem in Cruise’s filmography. While the movie may not have made a major impact at the box office, it has earned lasting critical praise. It features a scene, largely improvised by Cruise, that remains one of the most powerful of his career. I didn’t expect watching it now, especially Cruise’s scene, would hit me like a gut punch. The movie is Magnolia, and is currently streaming on Prime Video.

Tom Cruise’s raw, unscripted breakdown in Magnolia still shakes viewers

Tom Cruise improvised the most heartbreaking scene in MagnoliaTom Cruise in Magnolia | Credit: New Line Cinema

Directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, Magnolia is an emotional drama set over a time in the San Fernando Valley. The movie weaves together the lives of more than a dozen characters, all wrestling with grief, regrets, and the ghost of their past. Amid the chaos and coincidences, Tom Cruise‘s character Frank. T.J. Mackey stands out as a man built entirely on bravado until he crumbles.

I had seen Magnolia years ago, but I wasn’t prepared for how hard Cruise’s performance would hit. Watching it with the full weight of his action-hero legacy in mind, it felt like discovering a completely different actor. He plays Frank T.J. Mackey, a hyper-masculine, emotionally detached self-help guru whose entire public persona is built on dominance and denial.

It’s an easy character to hate until he crumbles. In the movie’s most devastating scene, Frank visits his dying father (Jason Robards), and something inside him breaks. After the line, “I’m not going to cry for you,” Cruise was given freedom by Anderson to improvise, and what follows is nothing short of staggering.

Anderson instructed him to draw on personal experience, namely the relationship Cruise has with his own father. In the scene, he falls apart in a way that feels so personal, so unscripted, that it stops feeling like a performance altogether. He sobs, pleads, lashes out, and ultimately begs his father not to leave him, repeating, “Don’t go away, you a**hole,” through heaving breaths. The pain is raw and real.

For me, this scene changed the way I see Cruise. He’s a one-of-a-kind movie star, the last of a dying breed. But Magnolia is proof that he’s also capable of dropping the persona entirely and showing something heartbreakingly real.

Tom Cruise’s Magnolia is a real underrated gem, stands apart from his blockbuster roles

Most people think of Cruise today as the face of American action cinema, Mission: Impossible, Top Gun: Maverick, and countless death-defying stunts that push the limits of what a movie star can physically do. But there were times, Cruise was just as committed to emotional risk as he is now to physical ones. Magnolia is the clearest proof of that.

At the time of its release in 1999, it wasn’t a commercial success. With a budget of $37 million, it only managed to pull in around $48.5 million worldwide. It was an emotionally messy movie, filled with intersecting storylines, existential monologues one that Cruise wrote, and, yes, even a rain of frogs.

Maybe that kind of movie didn’t appeal to the mainstream audiences at that time. And yet, the movie earned three Oscar nominations, including one for Tom Cruise as Best Supporting Actor. It may not have won the award, but the nomination alone speaks to the power of what he did on screen.

For a movie that’s often remembered for its ambition and heartbreak, Magnolia contains one of the most human moments I’ve ever seen from a major star. In a career defined by heroes who always win, this is the rare moment where Cruise lets himself lose, and in doing so, he gives us his most unforgettable work.

If you’ve only seen Cruise run, jump, and save the world, Magnolia will be a revelation. It’s streaming on Prime Video now, and I can’t recommend it enough. Just be ready, it might shake you like it did me.

  • Fan Outrage Chicago Fire Shocks Viewers With Ritter’s Sudden Exit As Devastating Trend Continues To Tear Firehouse 51 Apart

Fan Outrage Chicago Fire Shocks Viewers With Ritter’s Sudden Exit As Devastating Trend Continues To Tear Firehouse 51 Apart

Prepare for a heartbreaking blow to Firehouse 51! In a move that has ignited fury among fans, the inevitable exit of beloved firefighter Darren Ritter (Daniel Kyri) from Chicago Fire Season 14 has been officially confirmed, continuing a frustrating and alarming trend of character departures that is systematically stripping the show of its heart and diversity!

Where Is Darren Ritter on Chicago Fire? (February 19, 2025)

    Here’s the shocking news:

Ritter’s Forced Farewell: Despite no in-story explanation for his departure in the Season 13 finale, Daniel Kyri’s Ritter is indeed leaving Firehouse 51 for Season 14. This isn’t a creative choice by the writers; it’s a direct result of budget cuts by NBC. This means Ritter, who had just moved in with his girlfriend and was seemingly thriving, will be written out abruptly, likely without a satisfying on-screen send-off.

The “Frustrating Trend” Continues: Ritter’s exit is not an isolated incident; it’s part of a larger, deeply frustrating pattern that has plagued Chicago Fire (and other One Chicago shows) in recent seasons. Fans are exasperated by:

Abrupt Departures: Characters are often written out suddenly, leaving their storylines unresolved and fans feeling cheated.
Budget-Driven Exits: Key actors, like Kyri and Jake Lockett (Sam Carver, also leaving), are reportedly being let go due to financial reasons, rather than organic plot developments. This is leading to widespread fan disappointment.
Loss of Diversity: With Ritter’s departure, Chicago Fire is losing another prominent Black male character, raising concerns about the show’s decreasing diversity, especially for a series set in a city as diverse as Chicago.
Underutilized Characters: Many fans feel characters like Ritter were consistently “overlooked and underutilized” despite their potential, only to be cut when budget decisions are made, highlighting a missed opportunity for richer storytelling.

Firehouse 51’s Shifting Landscape: The consistent churn of characters means Firehouse 51 is constantly losing familiar faces, making it harder for viewers to invest in new relationships and character arcs. This trend, driven by network economics, threatens to erode the stability and familial feel that Chicago Fire is known for.

Ritter’s departure is a gut-wrenching confirmation for fans, who are left to wonder if Chicago Fire will ever break this cycle of frustrating character exits, as Firehouse 51 prepares to say goodbye to yet another beloved member.

It comes after Fearne has seemingly made another thinly-veiled dig at her ex-husband as she gushed that she is the happiest she’s ever been in a positive update

Caitlin Clark enjoyed a massive comeback win over the New York Liberty on Saturday, not in the sense of overcoming a huge deficit, but having returned on the back of an insufferable absence to go off on the reigning WNBA champions and hand them their first loss of the season.

The Indiana Fever star was sidelined for five games with a quad injury but showed she hasn’t missed a step as she returned to torch the Liberty with a 32-point performance that saw her score nine points in 38 seconds at one point, as she hit three contested long-range bombs from well beyond the arc in quick succession.

Even so, Clark has taken some stick due to a particular play in which she missed a shot attempt but threw her hands up in frustration when she did not get the ball back after the offensive rebound.

Check her out in the video below:

“Shorty really think she’s KD,” a user joked.

“yeah cant do that,” said a second.

“Horrible… shes been entitled since she was in HS,” added a third.

“Not a good look,” someone else wrote.

Of course, some fans did not care for it.

“This is how people who want to win act. She saw how bad they are without her, gotta hold ppl accountable. Get out your feelings,” a user suggested.

“Indiana played a damn near perfect game, and Clark had a stellar game and THIS S**T is what you focus on??” someone asked.

Caitlin Clark’s return was a very enjoyable watch. She scored her 32 points on 11-of-20 shooting from the field and 7-of-14 shooting from three, adding nine assists and eight rebounds.

The second-year guard scored 25 of those points in just the first half of the contest, playing 31 minutes in her first game back.

As for the Fever, they won by a blowout margin of 102-88 and will look to capitalize on the momentum after beating such a formidable opponent in such fashion.

Houston Texans star Azeez Al-Shaair has admitted regrets over his illegal hit to Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence and the ensuing brawl between the teams in a lengthy statement on social media.

Al-Shaair’s statement comes as his three-game suspension as a result of the incident has ended and he is slated to return to the field for the Texans on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans.

On December 1, an Al-Shaair hit to the head of a sliding and defenseless Lawrence caused chaos in Jacksonville. The defensive back needed to be restrained by several coaches and Lawrence has not played since taking the barbaric contact.

‘While so many jumped at the first opportunity to hop on the false narrative – that l’m a dirty player or bad person – the messages from all who stood by me were the only things keeping me mentally afloat during a time of isolation,’ Al-Shaair said on social media.

‘I’ve learned so much from this entire experience. Seeing myself on video – letting my emotions get the best of me to the point where I completely lost it – was an embarrassing and eye-opening moment for me.’

‘I’ve had to earn everything in my life. I never want to allow anyone to get me to a point where I jeopardize everything that I’ve worked all my life to obtain. That was not the way I want to represent myself or my family and I will continue to learn and grow from that moment.’

Al-Shaair said during his three-game ban, he met with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and other league executives for the first time, taking issue with how he was characterized in the official announcement of his suspension.

The defender said he thought his character and integrity were ‘unjustifiably smeared’ in the release but the meeting with Goodell and others was ‘productive’ and gave him hope it would not happen again.

‘In that conversation – man-to-man – I owned and acknowledged that my actions following my ejection were careless and, in that moment, I didn’t think about the responsibility I have been blessed with to represent the shield,’ Al-Shaair continued.

‘I also stated that the letter, and specifically the language used in the letter, was equally as careless and conveyed that the context of the words used were not a reflection of my character, nor my career, as I have not been warned multiple times for my play on the field.’

Al-Shaair’s hit on Lawrence was not the only controversial incident he was involved in this season.

During the Texans’ game against the Bears in September, he punched Roschon Johnson, who wasn’t even in the game at the time of another sideline confrontation.

Al-Shaair ended his statement by saying his view is that everyone in the league office and on the field are on the same team to represent the NFL in the best nature possible, something he failed to do earlier this month.

‘Lastly, I’ll say that this world is full of negative people who can’t wait to tear you down, but if you move with love and compassion, the seeds of good you planted in others’ lives can grow into the very tree that shades you with comfort and compassion when you need it most,’ Al-Shaair concluded.

‘I am a man of God, I am a leader, a warrior and a lover. I am also a hell of a football player and I’m grateful to be back doing what I love.’

Caitlin Clark’s durability has never been in question…until now.

The Indiana Fever star, who hadn’t missed a single game since high school, is sidelined for at least two weeks with a left quad strain. And while she walked off Saturday’s 90-88 loss to the New York Liberty without visible signs of injury, the update came as a jolt to fans and teammates alike.

On Monday, the Fever confirmed Clark’s injury and her upcoming absence. Head coach Stephanie White addressed the media during practice and made it clear she’s relieved Clark spoke up about the discomfort.

“Sometimes great players don’t tell you when they’re hurting,” White said. “I’m glad that she did because we need to nip this in the bud.”

    Clark’s Absence Raises Long-Term Questions

While Clark’s competitors admire her drive and refusal to sit, White emphasized that pushing through pain isn’t always the answer. “Obviously, she’s a competitor and wants to play. Obviously, everyone wants to watch her play,” she said. “But for me, it’s maintaining perspective.”

White stressed the importance of protecting Clark’s long-term health, especially early in the season. “We take care of it, don’t over-push, don’t over-exert,” she added. “Making sure that we take the long-game approach to this so that we’re not having lingering issues throughout the course of the season.”

Clark had played all four games for the Fever this year, averaging 19 points, 9.3 assists, and six rebounds. Her shooting numbers have dipped slightly from last season, with field goal accuracy at 40.3 percent and free throws dropping to 75 percent from her usual 90.6.

Off the court, the injury could also impact the league’s momentum. Clark has fueled a major surge in WNBA viewership and merchandise sales. According to Sports Illustrated, she’s responsible for 26.5 percent of the league’s total economic activity this year.

Ticket prices say it all. Last season’s Fever vs. Sky game saw resale prices near $165. Now, with Caitlin Clark out, seats are as low as $35. The Fever next face the Mystics, hoping to stay afloat until Clark’s possible return on June 10 against the Dream.

Basketball fans believe that the WNBA referees are to blame for Caitlin Clark’s concerning quad injury that will sideline her indefinitely.

On Monday, the Indiana Fever announced that Caitlin Clark will miss a minimum of two weeks after suffering a left quadriceps strain. If that timeline is accurate, Clark will hopefully be able to return for the club’s June 10 road game against the Atlanta Dream.

Clark suffered the injury during Saturday’s controversial 90-88 home loss to the New York Liberty. Clark appeared to be fouled by Natasha Cloud on the game’s final possession, but the officials called nothing as the Liberty barely escaped with a two-point victory:

After news of Caitlin Clark’s injury emerged, fans pointed the finger at the WNBA officials, citing the amount of physicality opposing defenders have gotten away with:

“Bcoz of poor making decisions of WNBA refs she became the boxing bag of diff players. No foul Calls when its CC. 😏,” a disgruntled fan wrote.

“Man with the way they were playing and defending Caitlin Clark plus the level of physicality the refs were allowing on her, i am not surprised she got injured,” said a user.

“Other teams are bounty-ing her and the refs won’t protect!” another fan said.

“This injury was caused by anti-Clark bias from the refs. No one else gets hacked like that with no fouls called. It was inevitable and, I believe, it was the goal. WNBA wants rid if her,” said a fan.

“she will just get injured again and again as wnba refs keep letting her get hacked far beyond legal basketball play,” wrote a user.

“Way to go WNBA and your freaking lousy Refs. Hope Caitlin Clark heals fast,” a fan wrote.

The WNBA saw a 48 percent increase in attendance for the 2024 season compared to 2023, thanks largely to the highly anticipated arrival of Clark. The league also finished with its highest viewership in 24 years, with multiple Indiana games recording over one million viewers.

So it’ll be interesting to see how the WNBA does in terms of ratings during the games without Clark. If they drop drastically, it just might prompt the league and its officials to do a better job “protecting” Clark, as disgruntled fans want.

Fever Players Must Step Up Caitlin Clark Sidelined

The Fever split their first four games despite the all-world play of Clark to begin the season, so it’s imperative for the rest of the team to step up during her absence. Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell have started out well, so perhaps expanded playing time is in the works with Clark sidelined.

Joining Lorraine Kelly on Monday’s episode of the ITV show, the TV presenter, 43, also gave an health update after having two tumours removed from jaw.

Fearne announced her split from Jesse, the son of Rolling Stones bass guitarist Ronnie Wood, in December after 10 years of marriage.

She has since made swipes at Jesse and moved on with TV director Elliot Hegarty, with the pair having been seen kissing during a recent night out.

Fearne has had a difficult few months after undergoing surgery to remove two benign tumours from her jawline, just days before her split with Jesse emerged.

She told host Lorraine: ‘It’s all very amicable and kids are doing great. I am in a very good place.’place.’

It comes after Fearne has seemingly made another thinly-veiled dig at her ex-husband as she gushed that she is the happiest she’s ever been in a positive update

REPORT: ESPN Ended Angel Reese With Their Brutal & Unnecessary Notification After Her “Historically Bad” Performance Against The Liberty On Thursday Night

ESPN did Angel Reese dirty following a poor shooting night against the New York Liberty on Thursday night.

Reese and the Chicago Sky suffered a second-straight loss to begin the season, having previously tasted defeat in their opener against Caitling Clark and the Indiana Fever.

She failed to score a single field goal during Thursday’s L, something ESPN noted in an update via their app as they called the former LSU star out for her “Historically bad shooting.”

The Worldwide Leader in Sports also noted that Reese tied a WNBA record for the most misses from within four feet of the rim in the last 10 years.

“Angel Reese goes 0-for-7 from within four feet of basket to tie most misses from that distance in WNBA over past 10 seasons,” the notification read.

Reese would miss her next attempt as she ended the game at 0-for-8. While she grabbed 12 rebounds, several of them resulted from her own misses, and she also committed five turnovers.

Angel Reese And The Sky Endured A Frustrating Night

The Sky held a brief 12-9 lead over NY on the night, but the Liberty put together an 8-0 run to take a 20-12 lead and set themselves up with a 53-32 cushion going into halftime, eventually winning 99-74..

Chicago couldn’t find any consistency on offense, shooting a lackluster 31.2 percent in the first half, with Reese failing to score until there were just six minutes left in the game.

Her tally of two points marked a career low.

For Reese, it was a night of frequent blocks, strips near the basket, and more or less missing on her own. But the Sky will hope to pick things up when they face the Los Angeles Sparks this Sunday.

Tony Romo speaking on CBSTony Romo (Photo via CBS)
Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is not the most popular guy on TV. That much was apparent while he was calling the Wild Card game between the Broncos and Bills for CBS on Sunday.

Romo, who has done very little to hide how much he admires Buffalo QB Josh Allen, had some praise for the MVP favorite while he was attempting to take his team to the Divisional Round.

Some fans felt like he was being overly gracious, while some simply couldn’t stand him talking in general.

“STFU AGAIN ROMO!!!!!!!!! I’M TIRED OF YOUR BILLS AND CHIEFS GLAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU’RE SICKENING ASF!!!!!!!!!!” an X user wrote.

“Can we start a petition to ban Romo from calling games,” another asked.

“Can Tony Romo get off his kneees for Josh Allen?” someone else chimed in.

“Tv muted when romo starts talking,” a fan claimed.

Tony Romo’s Partner Reached Impressive Milestone

While Romo was getting slammed, his broadcast colleague touched an impressive milestone.

Jim Nantz has been with CBS for over 40 years and reached his 500th game with the network calling Sunday’s fixture.

Nantz and Romo have been working together for seven of those 40 years.

Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson has emerged as one of the most prominent figures in women’s basketball. Her outstanding achievements and dominant performances on the court have boosted her confidence in her skills. However, this confidence has recently caused her some trouble, as NBA fans criticized her for a recent statement she made.

In a recent episode of the “Roommates” show, Wilson stunned both the NBA and WNBA by claiming that she could defeat New York Knicks star Josh Hart in a one-on-one matchup. Additionally, she predicted that the final score would be 11-8.

“Score would be 11-8, me. I’m not saying you gonna go scoreless, 8 to 11 is pretty solid. So, what do you think it’ll be, Josh?” Wilson said.

Although Josh and Wilson both had a good laugh during their conversation, Wilson’s comment stirred up the basketball community. “She’d lose 11-0 w him only playing w his offhand,” one fan said.

The 2025 Indy 500 delivered more than just high-speed drama and a new champion.

Amid the roar of engines and the thrill of victory, one emotional moment in the aftermath stole the internet’s attention. Cameras captured a woman in a chrome top rushing to console a heartbroken Marcus Ericsson after he narrowly missed his second Indy 500 title.

Social media immediately lit up with one question: Who is she?

Turns out, she’s no mystery at all. That woman is Iris Tritsaris Jondahl, a Greek-Swedish model, actress, and, more importantly, Marcus Ericsson’s wife. The two tied the knot in spring 2023 and have since become one of the most recognizable couples in the IndyCar paddock.

More Than Just A Viral Moment

While Alex Palou grabbed the checkered flag on Sunday, Ericsson’s emotional reaction after finishing second grabbed just as much attention. The 34-year-old Andretti driver, who won the 106th Indy 500 back in 2022, stood stunned at the finish. As FOX Sports cameras zoomed in, Iris was the first to reach him, wrapping him in a quiet moment of support that quickly made its way across the internet.

IndyCar on FOX didn’t miss it either. “Agony for Marcus Ericsson,” the network tweeted, sharing the clip of the couple as Ericsson processed the brutal loss.

Iris, who has over 23,000 followers on Instagram, had already been sharing moments from the race throughout the day. Her eye-catching chrome outfit and candid pit lane shots caught attention even before the final lap. But it was that raw, emotional embrace that cemented her spot in the race day narrative.

The couple recently celebrated their first anniversary in April. “Wow, time flies when I’m with you,” Iris wrote in a heartfelt post. “Promise me you’ll still love me when I’m wrinkly and have lost all my hair – because as you can see in the last picture, that might be coming sooner than we think!”

Despite the heartbreak on the track, Ericsson had someone to lean on after the checkered flag. For many fans, that touching moment was a reminder that racing is about more than cars and trophies. It’s also about the people behind the scenes- and sometimes, the ones standing beside you when the race is over.
