UConn star Paige Bueckers was loving her former teammate Nika Muhl’s pregame outfit on Wednesday night.

Bueckers was very supportive of her Huskies teammates who went to the WNBA Draft last month and continues to show support as she heads into another year in college with two years of eligibility left.

She took to Twitter/X to talk up Muhl’s outfit ahead of her regular season debut this Wednesday.

“This is the one,” she wrote as a reaction to a tweet from the WNBA account showing the Croatian’s fit off.

Muhl wore a t-shirt featuring an approved visa as she made fun of the visa situation that prevented her from making her debut in the Storm’s opener and playing in their first four games.

As it happened, she got her first taste of WNBA action against Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever, having earned praise for locking the latter down during their NCAA Tournament clash earlier this year.

Clark went on to lose the matchup, which marked a worrying 0-5 start for her in the pros. But Nika didn’t get much time on the floor as she only played for three minutes, hauling two rebounds.

Nika Muhl Could Be One To Watch In The WNBA

Nika Muhl burst onto the scene during March Madness this year, and her popularity soared ahead of the draft.

The Storm selected her in the second round, making her one of two UConn players drafted as Aaliyah Edwards went to the Washington Mystics at No. 6 overall.

Seattle won its second game of the season, going 2-3, on Wednesday night. Muhl’s fans would have been pleased to see her in action, albeit minimal, in her first professional game.

They will hope for a bigger role for her as the season unfolds.

An Instagram model going by the name “Destani” has been branded “the most dangerous woman in the NFL” as she’s rumored to have a child with Josh Jacobs and two other players in the league.

According to BlackSportsOnline, the Instagram model also has kids with Geno Smith and Eli Apple.

The site has been covering Destani’s escapades for a while and was among outlets to announce that she had added a third NFL baby daddy to her roster when it was said that she was expecting a child with Apple.

Jacobs, one of the top running backs in the league, joined the Packers as a free agent earlier this year.

 

Destani was involved in a wild interview back in 2021 when she told Akademiks she almost slept with Smith’s teammates. She also revealed having slept with an unnamed Jets player, as well as NBA superstar James Harden, who she said was her dream man.

The IG model is extremely attractive, so it’s not hard to see how she can keep pulling star athletes. It appears she’s set to have an ultra-competitive family.

REPORT: Police Officer Involved In Tyreek Hill’s Arrest On Sunday Has Been Handed A Stiff Punishment, Internal Affairs Investigation Underway

One of the officers involved in the detainment of Tyreek Hill was handed a stiff punishment on the same day the Miami Dolphins wide receiver was forced to the ground and placed in handcuffs in a shocking encounter with law enforcement.

 

According to department director Stephanie V. Daniels, the officer, who is attached to the Miami-Dade Police Department, has been placed on administrative leave.

“Following the incident involving Tyreek Hill, I have initiated an Internal Affairs investigation to ensure a thorough review of the matter,” Daniels said in a statement, per NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero. “One of the officers involved in the incident has been placed on administrative duties while the investigation is conducted.

“I’m committed to transparency and accountability to the community with any situation involving my officers.”

The wide receiver was the talk of the football world on Sunday morning after he was seen getting apprehended by several police officers just a block away from Hard Rock Stadium ahead of the Fins’ Week 1 opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

It’s no secret that LeBron James is a huge fan of the women’s game, so perhaps he was just trying to show Angel Reese some love.

“I don’t think there’s much difference between the men’s and women’s game when it comes to college basketball,” he told ESPN earlier this week. “I think the popularity comes in with the icons that they have in the women’s game. What should’ve ended their possession with a punt got the Chiefs three points on the board.

The Houston Texans would be the victims of another questionable call on Patrick Mahomes, and that penalty would lead to a touchdown.

After the game, Will Anderson was one of many players on the team who were not happy about the outcome, but he took it further.

The Texans defensive end accused the refs of helping the Chiefs in the game, which is something he and his teammates expected to happen.

The Texans didn’t go down without a fight, but a few miscues and bad calls contributed to a 23-14 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Of course, it was bound to be signed by Reeses Puffs, as her name fits perfectly with the company. Angel Reese would sign with the cereal company in August 2024 and would be the face of a special edition cereal and a duffel bag.

The video criticized the WNBA star for failing to hit many of her shots during the 2024 season. It received attention from analyst Jason Whitlock, who claimed the “app has no chill.”

Detroit Lions cornerback Amik Robertson appeared to suffer a gruesome snapped arm during the first quarter of Saturday night’s outing against the Washington Commanders.

It’s been end-to-end stuff at Ford Field, with the teams trading touchdowns, though the Commanders had a cushion of a lead – 31-21 – heading into halftime at the time of writing.

Robertson’s night is over, however, with the breakout defensive player coming off worse for wear after a hefty collision with teammate Jack Campbell. The linebacker slammed into his cohort during a tackle, sending him to the ground in pain.

Robertson’s left arm appeared to be broken as he lay on the field.

Roki Sasaki is slipping away from joining his idol Yu Darvish and the San Diego Padres. Several teams are pursuing Sasaki as he’s ready to make a final decision anytime soon. The Japanese star will join Major League Baseball as an international agent before spring training.

Sasaki met with several teams to ensure before becoming eligible to sign in the majors. The pitcher was predicted to join the Padres and pitch alongside Darvish. A blockbuster trade proposal has the St. Louis Cardinals taking a major step in their rebuild by sending All-Star third baseman Nolan Arenado to a National League heavyweight.

It’s well-known across the league that the Cardinals are actively looking to trade Nolan Arenado, who has three years and $74 million remaining on his contract. Last month, Arenado used his no-trade clause to block a trade to the Houston Astros.

Having missed the postseason for the second straight year in 2024, St. Louis already bid farewell to All-Star first baseman Paul Goldschmidt and pitchers Kyle Gibson and Lance Lynn. Up next, it’s time to trade Arenado.

Patrick McAvoy of Sports Illustrated proposed a blockbuster trade idea that has St. Louis trading Nolan Arenado to the Philadelphia Phillies in exchange for fellow All-Star third baseman Alec Bohm and promising pitching prospect Alex McFarlane:

“One that stands out is the Phillies. Philadelphia won 95 games last year but now needs to do something big to keep up with the Mets and Dodgers. The Phillies have been in trade rumors as they have attempted to deal All-Star infielder Alec Bohm. Why not come together on a deal?”

The Phillies could use another powerful bat to close the gap with the defending World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers, who got even more dangerous by signing two-time Cy Young winner Blake Snell in free agency.

So if Arenado is willing to accept a trade to Philadelphia, the NL East club should move quickly to finalize a deal. They’re already good enough to compete for a World Series championship, but a player like Arenado would push them that much closer to reaching the ultimate goal.

A cause of death has been disclosed following the passing of legendary MLB broadcaster Bob Uecker.

Uecker, a longtime announcer for the Milwaukee Brewers, died at the age of 90 on Thursday morning. The Brewers are deeply saddened by his passing and released a statement describing it as a heavy burden.

“Today, we take on the heaviest of burdens. Today, we say goodbye to our beloved friend, Bob Uecker,” the team wrote.

Uecker was the team’s primary broadcaster for 54 seasons. He played in the league for five years before transitioning to broadcasting. The Milwaukee native also appeared on TV and in movies, including ‘Major League’ and ‘Mr. Belvedere.’ He did some work in wrestling broadcasting, too.

“Ueck was the light of the Brewers, the soundtrack of our summers, the laughter in our hearts, and his passing is a profound loss. He was the heart and soul of Wisconsin and a dear friend. Bob loved people; his presence warmed every room and he had a way of welcoming all of us into his world as if we were lifelong friends,” the Brewers added in their statement.

Uecker earned the nickname “Mr. Baseball” during one of his many appearances on Johnny Carson’s late-night show. He had a reputation as a colorful comedian and was known for lightening the mood everywhere he went.

Manager Pat Murphy celebrated with the late announcer after the team won the NL Central title in 2024, wrapping an arm around him and pulling him close while players showered him in champagne.

Bob Uecker’s family revealed after his passing that the announcer had been dealing with small-cell lung cancer since 2023.

They have also expressed gratitude for all of the support they have received since Uecker’s death was announced today.

“We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time as we grieve and celebrate the man we were so lucky to call ours,” they said.

Death, taxes and the Los Angeles Dodgers winning the free agent sweepstakes of a highly-coveted superstar free agent. This time, they won the pursue of Japanese ace pitcher Rōki Sasaki.

The 23-year-old announced he was joining the Dodgers in an Instagram post, as if signing Shohei Ohtani (10 years, $700 million), Yoshinobu Yamamoto (10 years, $325 million), Freddie Freeman (six years, $162 million) and Blake Snell (five years, $182 million) wasn’t enough.

The defending World Series champions were reported to be one of the three finalists for Sasaki, along with the San Diego Padres and Toronto Blue Jays. But as they did against the Jays with Ohtani, the Dodgers managed to win over Sasaki with their pitch.

The 23-year-old announced he was joining the Dodgers in an Instagram post.

And MLB fans are absolutely furious with the star-studded Dodgers landing yet another can’t-miss free agent that they obviously don’t need to win:

“Baseball is broken. Congrats on MLB for letting the Dodgers ruin baseball!!,” one unhappy fan stated.

“Can we just not. The MLB is a joke. Haven’t seen a roster differential this skewed in my entire lifetime. The Dodgers have killed baseball for years to come,” a fan wrote.

“I’m not shocked in the slightest but the Los Angeles Dodgers are ruining baseball. It’s not even a joke at this point, not only do I root for literally the worst team in history, on the opposite end is a super team who just spends money they don’t even have yet,” remarked another.

“Baseball is legitimately dead. Sucks that the same two or three teams dominate the MLB year over year and there is little to no variance. Can’t imagine this helps viewership or growth of the game outside of LA which is already a massive market. Rip baseball as we knew it,” said a fan.

“Major League Baseball is a joke of a league. Killed the sport,” quipped another.

“Baseball is bad. League is broken. Sorry. I tried to be optimistic. But what’s the point?,” asked another.

“If it weren’t for fantasy and betting, I’d have zero interest in MLB this year. Dodgers are ruining baseball,” wrote another.

The Dodgers won the 2020 World Series and reached the NLCS in 2021 before they landed Ohtani, Freeman, Yamamoto and now both Snell and Sasaki. With no salary cap in major league baseball, they can just keep adding adding more and more superstars to a roster that no other MLB team comes close to matching.

It’s obviously frustrating for non-Dodgers fans, but they’re simply playing by the rules. If MLB wants to make their product more watchable for other fanbases, they’re going to have to add a salary cap system.

It’s not a stretch to start wondering if the Dodgers are about to field the best rotation in the history of baseball. They have Ohtani, Yamamoto, All-Star Tyler Glasnow, the aforementioned two-time Cy Young winner in Snell and now Sasaki.

In short, good luck to the other MLB teams in thwarting the Dodgers’ bid for a repeat. The rich have gotten a whole lot richer.
